Man City Ladies FC...the dawn of a new era?

Postby Sister of fu » Wed Jul 28, 2010 6:56 pm

For those of you are interested (John68) I wanted to give a little update on the massive strides that the ladies team have made over the summer months. We have now been given some backing from the club which will mean the following:

-No more payments of £230 per season to play.
-New training facilities at the new college on Rochdale Road on a Tuesday and Thursday. (No more Friday nights)
-Training kits provided for all the teams so no more Muen shit at training.
And best of all
-New ground-COMS athletics stadium.
-New website.

I can’t tell you how happy I am that the club have finally come on board to assist us as it was greatly needed. It’s a shame for me that it has happend now as this will be my last season but I will be glad that I am leaving a club behind that is going places.

The club hope that some of our games will co-inside with the men’s fixtures on a Sunday so that some fans can try and come across and support us before going onto watch the lads play, I know I will be sprinting across the car park to take my seat after our games. Our games will KO at 2pm with our 1st game being on the 22/08/10.

On a personal note I have been on a health kick all summer and have lost a stone, seems as its my last season I want to make sure I do it right and have no regrets. I can’t wait for both seasons’s to KO.

By the way does me being on Wikipidia mean iv made it?????????????

My cousin has started with the ladies reserves after leaving Blackburn, Hayley Wilkinson.

She gives a similarly glowing report, nice to see the club doing stuff like this

No we sent all the kids and the ones at College. They had a wonderfull trip and were treated like royality. Im far to old for spending a week away with a load of 16,17 and 18 year old kids i would have wanted to be in bed by 9 every night.....;-)

I have seen a couple of Blackburn girls at training so i imgaine she is one of them. The club has come on leaps and bounds and is far more professional, we are not even allowed to wear coloured boots until we hit targets which i think is great, the youngs ones dont really like it but i think to the wear coloured boots you have to be good a what your doing!!

fantastic news and well deserved too.

Shame its your last year..... do you fancy getting involved in the coaching side?

Does this mean you are a free agent soon and could make a free transfer to the Pitz at ardwick ;-)

And

YES you have made it if you are on Wiki!

Heather has been trying to send Wiki a picture and said she will send one of my with my boobs out.......

As for coaching, Leigh the manager keeps making subtle hints like standing the U16 GK next to my goal and telling her to watch me and then asking me to show her the ropes. Don’t know if i have the patients for coaching , I think i will do something though as i just cant see me walking away from football after 22 years!!

You only started playing when you were 28? Thats impressive!

Good thing you weren't at that tournament, I was going to go down and watch the girls but couldn't make it. Would have hated to think I missed a chance to see Fu play in her retirement year

I wouldnt mind seeing you play, i have always thought we never had a city ladies team because on the sky sports table ticker, when the womens premiership table come up i never see manchester city.

But will you be playing in the first team and which position do you play? you have a wicked right foot! dare i say it ( for a girl) :)

Yeah you made it Andie!! Nice one!!

I see a conflict of interests though, you've gotta chose one; managing our 5 a side team or playing.

We need 100% commitment Andie, if you can't give us that then...

I am a goalkeeper but can play out a little bit, i am a frustrated centre forward in reality......

If you have seen the film Mean Machine and you see the scene with Jason Stathom when he is GK and he imagines going on a mad run and scoring a wonder goal, that is pretty much me for the last 22 years and prob every other GK in the world!
