I'm actually down sizing my strides for the coming season!

Yeah you made it Andie!! Nice one!!

I see a conflict of interests though, you've gotta chose one; managing our 5 a side team or playing.

We need 100% commitment Andie, if you can't give us that then...

thats an impressive coaching record too

So when will the new website be up? Or if it already is, what is the address?

Really chuffed for you and the whole ladies team, by the way. You should've gotten this back-up already years ago, though.

God has my manager and goalie coach been in your ear, they keep telling me that i have another 4 years in me that takes me up to 37. I have a long standing muscle problem in my right leg that affects the way i play and also affects my mobility the days after matches and training. I have struggled on with it for years but as i get older it seems to get worse, i dont want to play if i cant to my fully capacity and i dont want people remenbering me as shit.

I also want a to spend more time with H and my family which is a stuggle during the season. Training days will have me out of the house for up to 15 hours and weekends are taking up by matches so when H has a weekend off we cant go anywhere as i have a game. We also have little or know no social life as i cant drink at weekends. There is also the City affect, i dont like missing games,so if they are on a Sunday i cant go and City is a huge factor in my life.

Great news about the ladies football team. I can honestly say i'm not a huge admirer of womens footbll but it does have it's place and i know a lot of girls love to play it including my neice who has just had a tournament in Barcelona with Droylsden girls. It was always annoying when you catch a glimpse of the womens footy results and there was no City to be seen when other, much smaller clubs, have a team. Good luck girls and heres hoping you give the Arsenal a run for their money in the coming years.

I will be honest with you and say I don't particularly like womens football to watch but I do feel this has improved over the last few years with your Evertons and your Arsenals. Better coaches have come into the game and we now have decent facilties. The only way it will improve is for the clubs to go full time but that is a long way off in the UK because of the mens game. There is a new summer super league starting in March 2011 so keep an eye out on the TV for that. I think City may be bidding to enter in 2 years time when the applications process re-opens.

yr mum never writes me and my missus.

Also, Andie -- can you imagine the kind of trim you can pull with new kick-ass facilities and a big fat wedge behind you? i mean, for the team, of course, not you personally. Ahem.

Stick around a few more years and watch the changes happen...i bet it will be something you cherish into old age. You won't have that rockin bod forever young lady...put it to good use. Between the sticks of course. ;)

RETIREMENT????
How the fucl can you retire at your tender age. I mean g/keeping ain't exactly running around is it? Even Fat Bob can do the keeping job and he looks older than me (but not as old as Gillie).

Really pleased with the news Andie. City Ladies is a part of the City community that the club go on so much about supporting. They should have done this from the start so I'm pleased as fuck that it has happened now.

Females don't have the same physicality as most men, so the way forward is to increase skill levels. There is absolutely no reason why women can't achieve high skill levels....Get into coaching and help them move forward.

I still didn't get an answer on the beer thing?

Anyway, I was talking to a City Rep today (no names, no pack-drills) and he was saying that this is the baby of Garry Cook. He didn't say how it came about but did say that he is very big on bringing all things City under one banner and he wants to make it all successful. So, you never know, you may be winning the league in 5 years yourself; only as a spectator of course. So well done to you and the team, and well done to the club for recognising your achievements.

On another note, there's supposed to be an open day at CoMS next Friday, why don't you and the team turn up in your City Kits and see if they'll give you a run-out?

Laff. Please. I bet she's done things to girls you and i could only dream about. FACT.

Besides. My comments about her not retiring are genuine. She knows it makes sense. She living a dream most men on this board would covet. In more ways than one.

Cheers

Only just seen this thread but what fantastic news for you Andie and the rest of the squad. It's been long overdue but full credit to the club for finally bringing the ladies team under its wing

Hope your last season is a successful one and that you are able to stay in the game in whatever capacity you want after that
