I currently live 15 minutes by bike from Hoegaarden. Ate at the brewery last week with the missus. Worst food and service I've had outside Britain, ever. Until the start of this month, I lived about 800 metres from the Stella brewery. Where Leffe is also brewed.

Shame about the food and service, did you enjoy the beer though ?

Rabotnicki gifted Ngog a goal.. showing brilliant skill not defending at all and falling over instead. This lot dont seem to realise this is their best chance. Pretty dull game on a par with City v NYRB

No better than in any other bar here, perhaps slightly worse, as it was poured by temp workers, and not professional bar staff (there is a noticeable difference in the beer quality with many Belgian beers due to this).

Nool- have you ever had La Trappe? It's the only non-Belgian trappist beer, brewed in the Netherlands.

e
all the time. they have three-four different versions at my local super market: the blonde, the double, the triple, the quadruple and the wheat. The only trapist I'm still to try is westvleteren.

Got 2 crates of the heaviest one (Westvleteren 12) at Easter. Should be off to get some more of one of the varieties in the next couple of weeks. I'll save you a bottle if you want.

Also had the blonde, which I prefer, but still to try Westvleteren 8.

please do! The only time i've come across it, it's been around 35-40 euros for a 33 centilitre bottle.
Are you heading north anytime soon, by the way?

Very off topic, but i'm thinking about going to the dorestad museum next week (i have holidays, the missus not). One of the most important towns in north western europe in the 7th to 9th century that, for some still undisclosed reason (even though there are plenty of theories,) vanquished very rapidly. it's only a 20 minute drive, and there's also a nice castle to see and a cute medieval town with a couple of nice pubs.
