Thank you and god bless Leslie x
Thank you?? What for???
Adressing the problems at Carrington. Setting the wheels in motion for a top-5 finish last season and the chance of silverware in the carling cup. For signing Given, Kompany, Bellamy, de Jong, Tevez, Adebayor, SWP, Zabaleta.
Thanks for that Fidel.
Even though many of people didnt like him on here for many reasons, he signed some great players, whether or not they were his choice I dont know? We were 5th when he left and we still ended 5th at the end of May.

Good to hear. This season is going to be 'massive' for us and we fans can play a part in it by getting 100% behind the manager and his staff*Svensational wrote:I agree statistics prove us all wrong indeed and Mancini is starting to win me round.

So Mancini is a better manager than Mercer?

He has won more trophies I think?
I suspect if we did that it would put Sven at the top of the list.Wooders wrote:King Kev wrote:Svensational wrote:Why does Mancini make you erect but Hughes didnt?
would be fairer to compare mancinis first 19 to hughes first 19 - I suspect the results would be comparable, and probably in Hughes's favour

Actually we were 6th. Although they took the decision to sack him after the Spurs game and we were 7th (I think). Villa were 4th at the time. All joking aside I personally think Hughes would be a great No.2 at a big club. He just doesn't have what it takes to be the main man at a big club. Cook was right when he said Hughes liked his comfort zone and City with mega bucks was too big a reach. The fact that he takes his people wherever he goes is telling. To get the bigger jobs he needs to stretch himself. Go abroad. Surround himself with people who can challenge him and have different ideas to him. Going to Fulham and taking the Bowen mob with him tells you all you need to know about Hughes and his capabilities. Its a safe appointment for Fulham though. Good cup run and a decent League position and everyone is happy.

WOW
People have short memories!!!! Our first 19 league games with Hughes we were 6-3-10 and hanging near the relegation zone. That's 21 points. 1.105 points per game would put him just above Alan Ball.
Sometimes people forget that there were actual reasons why people didn't want him as our manager. That is because he really isn't that good.

Agreed.
Mancini is our manager now, we should be concentrating our energy on getting behind him.
I hope David Platt takes over when Bobby leaves.

Mark Hughes is planning a raid on the Blues to take Roque Santa Cruz, Stephen Ireland and Craig Bellamy to his new club Fulham.
Hughes took over at Craven Cottage last night on a two-year deal, seven months after he was sacked by City.
The Welshman brought Bellamy and Santa Cruz to Eastlands, having previously signed them during his time in charge at Blackburn.
And both, along with Academy graduate Ireland, look surplus to requirements at City as Roberto Mancini looks to trim his squad.
Would be great if he took RSC, bet he won't pay stupid fee and stupid wages this time though.
