Was this on Ireland's Twitter feed? If so, have Twitter authenticated it as being him?

Yes...and as far as I know it's his offical feed

How official? Has it been given the Mark (Blue Army) six stars of authentication?

Not six, but ill give it a four

i am going to sound ridiculous here but what exactly is twitter for? all i see is 'such and such is sitting down for lunch' is it just like facebook status updates and nothing else? what a load of shit. great news about stevie. everyone is very right on this thread, he should thrive around the other midfielders we have brought in, and not have to worry too much about tracking back. his best role is behind the striker(s) and that's where i would like to see him.

Just looked on mong & a geezer there who knows him, or has contact in some capacity or other, has slipped a comment in saying he doesn't have a twatter thingy, so it may well be a load of old cobblers.

I just hope the lad has had a break this summer, he tried to repeat his success of the previous season by not having a break last summer but that meant he was into his third straight season without a proper rest in between, crazy. Hopefully he'll have recovered correctly this time and will get some playing time in the early cup games and off the bench to build his confidence back up

Stevie may have had one decent season for us in some people's eyes, but in my eyes he's been a City player for nearly a decade and I'd hate to see a lad at 23 years old with his potential leave the club.

Plus, he keeps all our Irish fans happy, taking more and more of them away from the Rags and Scags ;-)

I really think Twitter is a lot more than just dumb updates about your life. That is what a lot of people use it for, but the people I follow are mainly football journalists and other fans, their tweets are much more substantial.

Great source for breaking news as well.

Come on Stevie lad,you can do it.

been saying this for ages. cos its simples.. Yaya, Silva and Ireland will be the best one touch and move players we have.

take any one of the famed Barca players out of the comfort of all their teammates being able to do the same thing and they will look half the players they are. Players like Ireland need others to play with who are on that tack because they play a true team game. Ireland is part of the future and the more players we have that can pass properly and fast whilst moving around will make Stevie look better and better.

To be totally honest of my opinion, i think that if we want to be better than say Barca then Stevie Ireland is one of the ways we could be. He has a range of passing and techniques for squeezing a pass out of nowhere that is better imo, far better than both Xavi and Iniesta, he is more unpredictable and creative than the two of them put together.

You know, I couldn't agree more....... Here's wishing

It's now being using for viral marketing by companies. They are paying celebrities to mention their products in their tweets.

I wonder if it was Swiss cheese? Yeah, I reckon it would have been. Or it could have been gouda.

yeah, instead they will be using social networking site called mcfc.co.uk. De Jong will be giving his usual bi-weekly low down of our season targets and telling us that they are trying to win next game. I love those. Highly informative.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
