Inter Milan vs CITY

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Inter Milan vs CITY

Postby Invisible Man Fan » Sat Jul 31, 2010 11:52 am

Seem as though we are supposed to be fielding a strong team this evening, do you think we have a chance of beating the Current Euro Champs?

The lads seemed better last time out, with Jo surprising me, Ade being his usual lazy self, and Lescott being erm....Lescott.

Inter, from what I can find out, haven't played a game together since the Final back in May, therefore I can't see them fielding a strong side and if they do, they won't be match fit.

I reckon 2-1 to City with Yaya being the main playmaker in the team, playing in Johnson and Ade with inch perfect balls. I just hope that Kidd/Cockface don't rip the team apart at half time again to give the fringe players a run out.

By the way, does anyone know if we have to listen to those idiotic commentators again tonight, or are we getting the ever-improving ESPN ones back?
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Does anybody know who exactly we have available tonight? Or Inter for that matter?

I thought Ade had a great game against Club America. Bridge was quite good too, surprisingly. Yaya of course was immense and here's hoping that he and Stevie start to develop some chemistry tonight.

I'm flying into Baltimore for the game and can't wait to see City in-person for the first time!
Proud to outfit my local league team in Sky Blue.

COME ON CITY!

All I want for my birthday is a derby win.

Hope you'll agree the game, mate! Unfortunately Mancini won't be on the bench because he's actually in his hometown in Italia. His dad seems very ill, good luck to both!

The only problem with Bridge in the game against New York was his (understandable) rustiness - even when Richards went round him for their first goal his positioning was spot on - he lacked the yard of pace to get his foot in to block the cross but seeing as how as he's been out injured for a while it wasn't surprising. I didn't see the game against the Mexicans unfortunately.

We really need to be playing are strongest 11 we possibly can, i know we will be missing Tevez, Silva, De Jong and others but the rest have to play. I'm all for giving the youngsters a run out but i think with the season only two weeks away we need to have the team playing together for full games to be able to gel.

Inter haven't played since the Champions League final so will be a bit rusty but saying that they are still a top team so they should give us a good run out tonight.

I'm gonna go for a 2-1 City win with Ade scoring both and Yaya to have another top game, i really think he will make a difference this season his passing is top class.

All but 3 of the youngsters have been sent home so we should see a strong team

Os saying we will field a strong team, but hey it just a practice game.. so winning or drawing or losing are totally unimportant, what to look for is partnerships and good passages of play. All eyes on Yaya i suppose. i'd like to see Micah getting forward and i'd like to see Ireland start with Yaya. Trying different formations would be good and a bit of going for it as a team. That said i dont expect Milan to be very good in fitness terms, but they have a good defence so it is a test to break that down depending who they field.

Gazzetta dello Sport thinks this will be the line up between the two sides, looks like we have a chance to win this one.

Be interesting to see Philippe Coutinho given he seems to be the replacement for Balotelli.

Looks like Platt and Kid are in charge for tonights game then. I know its only a friendly/warmup but still reckon we'd have had more chance with Mancini there.

If the teams line up like this then I think we should do them! The only weak links are in defence....Lescott is a permanent weak link and Micah has no focus a lot of the time.

Disagree with you there about Lescott mate. I think he will come good for us this season. He had some great performances last season and a lot of crap ones. He was inconsitant yes but i just feel that it will all change this season for him.
