Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!
by ashton287 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 12:48 pm
i think talking about this for 30 minutes would be very boring so i'll bring my headphones. I ALWAYS want to stay back, The only time i go forward is when rog and chris are fucked and say "you go up". I'm happy to stay back whenever im on the pitch but it's annoying as fuck when im back and i end up with 2 running at me. Wouldnt mind if we could slide because id just put them on there arse every time and take the free kick but i just have to stand there and watch.

Yo, i've just had footy training and my rib has gone worse!
I played with Ric on Thursday an I managed to get through it, although it hurt a bit.
Tried to do training today an couldn't sprint or do sit ups or anything..
I'm gonna take pain killers tomorrow night an hope for the best. What time is Kick off?

I'll text my keeper mate again ... 2 secs....
My mate Chris has cancelled, so I've managed to get Danny to play again.
I'm just waitin on reply from keeper.
I also might not last coz of my rib but we'll see.
An yeah 30mins is too much, we can sort it in 5.

Mayhem!
Well I'll be alright to get there for 8 I reck, bit of a worry on numbers though eh.
Hopefully Bob is alright to play.
Yeah we shouldn't need the geneva convention to sort out the fact that a couple of players need to take responsibility of declaring themselves as being defenders, one last man and a support watching the runners if we lose the ball.
Worst thing we can do is let teams break on us where it gets to three on two, or two on one, cos unless they do soemthing shit, it should be a goal and there's nothing the outnumbered defender can do about it.
We're not far off though; bit of spit and polish and all will be well.

I'll be there this evening. I have some views on when to have defensive players on. I thought last week at 6-1 up we should have slowed it down, frustrated them and picked off the chances when they presented themselves. Afterall we've felt the difficulty of chasing the game ourselves and it's tough. We carried on too gung ho in my opinion, but maybe others think I'm wrong.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

Oi, fuckers.
I've fucked Ju Jitszu off, so I'm available to play mondays now, as of the 16th aug (I'm going on holiday)
Obviously not expecting to get a game straight away but I can cover anyone who's missing from then.

That was the problem mate, in 3 months of doing it I only got to spar once. That was everyone aswell, it was just concentrating on gradings etc and while I appreciate that it is part of it, I wanted a little more action. Why go to MMA and not actually fight???
Gonna look into doing something else that is a little more hands on.

That sounds like a ballache....place I kickboxed in London was good on that. The main classes were just technique and touch sparring and pad work and then they had a semi contact sparring separate session and a full contact one
Much better that way as you don't have to make it "non contact" and suitable for the shithouses who don't want to get hurt (...sorry I mean the people who just want to work on their fitness....and most girls)

That is exactly how I've always done martial arts too, maybe an hour of training, and 30 minutes sparring. This was total bollocks, just pure stamina training, and teqniques etc. boring as fuck, and my kids hated it. gotta mix it up from time to time to keep it interesting.
I couldn't even fight in competitions in the clubs name ffs. whats the point????
