Training Monday 2/8

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Mon Aug 02, 2010 9:31 pm

Sorry couldnt get along today as running a junior cricket match but my good mate Neil(NMT) got there and did this brief report:

The main squad were having a day off but the recent signings were out along with the remaining World Cup boys.

Silva, Boateng, Tevez and De Jong were being put through there fitness paces, doing a lot of jogging and 3/4 sprints.

Kolarov was out first doing a bleep test and then more running work separate to the rest of the lads.

They all then took part in the usual short sided games which included the coaches as there wasn't many here.

They fly out to Germany at some point tomorrow but will train before they go, they will be back training, probably Thursday pm and Friday before the open house at Eastlands.

SO I will go along tomorrow and see what's to be seen.

As it happens that's what I had been told was going to happen.Travel today, train tomorrow then play wednesday and back home either wednesday night or Thursday morning. Somehow though all the managers will want as much time as possible with the players all together before the first prem match and it's not easy with a crazy international next week.

This Germany trip seems a bit too much for me. Hardly get to settle in one place for 2 days. Even in the States they were moving about. Then there's the insane internationals next week - time that was knocked on the head, last year it was between the first two games.

It's ok though because we've just had 2 solid weeks training together & you could see how we put it to such good use. Really stole an advantage on the opposition there.

Agreed, i think moving around so much will be detrimental to our early season performances and bedding in Boateng and Silva and Kolarov in 2 weeks wll be a tough task. We'll see i guess.

Suppose we made some money and contacts out of the trips so its a positive for the business at least.
