Is it the grey suit with the City badge on the breast pocket? He always looked lovely in that.

I thought he was enigmatic and very dignified when asked about us; everyone's different I suppose.

Something about a guy peeping through the gates at training every day at City and that's why he had to leave.
Or something along those lines....

"Hughes had been out of work since being sacked by Manchester City last season, with the club well placed to finish in the top four of the Premier League at the time. "Obviously, I was disappointed because I felt I was doing a good job, given the circumstances," he said. "I think no-one else could've done as good a job as I did, given the circumstances.

"I felt we were fully on track with the expectations of the owners."

Well except for the fact that the owners clearly felt he wasn't doing a good job in the circumstances and that he wasn't fully on track with their expectations Hughes has pretty much nailed it.

I did like this:

Because Fulham are not in Europe this season, Hughes was confident of bettering the club's Premier League finish of 12th last term. "We don't have the distraction of the Europa League," he said. "That's a big ask when you're involved in that competition. We had that experience the year before at City.

"I think the fact we haven't got that this year is a bonus. If we can get into the top 10 this year, that'll be good progress."

I wonder if Al Fayed will move the goal posts?

Just seen the part where Hughes mentioned about getting quality forwards and Al Fayed gives him a 50 spot.

Looks like they're going for Roque after all.

ultimately i believe he got sacked because he was an old-school, my way or the highway type leader, and the structure City are putting in place with all the administrators, and executives, etc couldn't fit that model. Hughes wanted to control everything and i'm guessing he was just a complete pain in the ass. That plus dire football draws equals death. I think it's that simple. Have you ever worked with some know-it-all knobhead who seems aloof, detached and just has to have the final say on everything? as soon as that cockface is wrong the daggers come out. It's kind of old school...i don't mind it. Mancini, being Italian and used to that type of structure and political intrigue, knows how to comport himself with the suits and the douches. He just bides his time and chooses his battles i'm sure.

Anyway, good luck Mark. I wish you'd done a bit better for us. I miss that attacking verve we had for about 2 months last season. I don't miss shipping goals like a fuclin pub team tho. Hey. Ho.

cheers

That is absolute bullshit. We were eight when he was sacked with no wins in ages. Only rag obsessed media would claim that we were "well placed to finish in top four". Absolute horse shit.

And "no one could've done better job given the circumstances"???? What fucking circumstances???? Richest owner in the world, open check book, great stadium, great supporters. What the fuck?

This cunt took side wthat finished 9th, spent 120m and ended up finishing 10th. What a fucking tool.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
