Good. He can stay injured there, get rushed back early and get injured again.

Not unexpected. Took a long time though, could've been done in May!

I'd rather have Darren Bent, he scores more goals!

Strange how he announces it now, after all these take-over offers come in? Goes with the reports that Liverpool were offered money but not the reported 70 million they were after. Bet he's offered a nice little contract enhancement as well.
Good to see the speculation over though.

I just find it funny that one player (under contract) can keep a club like Liverpool hanging on all summer, to see if he'll continue to play for them.
Player power at a new level?

Kaka, Torres..... both apparently too shite to play for us.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I'm not sure that's people's concern. Johnson, Silva, Kolarov, (Milner)... Young, upwardly mobile players with ambitions to achieve things. That's what our transfer policy under Mancini has been and that's what it should continue to be. Dzeko better fits the bill in that regard.
What's more, Torres is the kind of player you have to build a team around. Liverpool did that last year, and suffered when he was injured and they didn't have a suitable back-up. It'd be great if he came, but I think there are better options.

Torres is 26 for crying out loud! Hardly planning to set up a pub for retirement days is he?
And I have to strongly disagree regarding your statement that Torres is kind of player you have to build your team around. In fact, I feel exact opposite. He can do things by himself and create chance for himself. Now Kaka, he might be that sort of player but Torres definitely not.
Anyway, he isn't coming so that's that.

Never really thought we had much chance of getting him tbh, if we'd finished 4th then it might have been a different matter, not much point in him swapping one club in the europa league for another. If they don't finish in the top 4 next season though I reckon he'll be off.

He's still best as a Drogba-esque "one up top". And although he's not past it, I wouldn't call him upwardly mobile. Liverpool was his big move. In fact, in the WC he was barely mobile at all. Injury-prone strikers. We all know how you feel about them, NQDP.

I can't believe how many posters are getting their knickers in a twist because one comment questioned whether the fitness/injury record of Torres justified almost doubling the British transfer record on a player we know doesn't want to play for us, who has rebuffed bids before and has repeatedly slated us in the press.
