Anyone get the feeling that when he is fully fit he might actually be pretty good?

Looks like he is on his way out and I know he has his detractors on here me included...but can't help thinking he could have been decent

That's a bit harsh...at least Crocky had one good season in the Prem!

ive always thought he is a pretty good striker. i still think if he had been fully fit and given a decent run in the team (starting games) then i think he would of notched a few.

but the fact is, he simply cant seem to get fully fit. we should offload him if we get a bid of 7-8 million

I think he could maybe have come good

Just like I thought Bojinov could potentially have come good

Unfortunately it really does seem like both are made from glass

Now, Rolando Bianchi....I really do think he could have come good if he hadn't missed mama so much

He'd be superb for us if he was as fit as a few years ago but he's never been fit at all for us & now, even if he gets match fit, can he still jump/run the same after his last injury? So far he doesn't look as if he's going to get back to being the same player, even if he gets match fit. He has no 'spring' atm.

If he does get it back he'll have a great season for whoever signs him though, so we shouldn't just chuck him away without a thought.

I am probably wrong but i get the feeling he's a bit of a lazy bastard and isn't too arsed about being constantly injured and not playing. I wouldn't be bothered if he went but i think we'll be lucky to get £6M for him with his record.

You could be right but I'd be surprised if Hughes was so keen to sign a lazy bastard. Doesn't seem to fit with Hughes' character to me.

No.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

think he's an above average striker but we paid way, way too much for him - he will do well for stoke/fulham but he's not good enough for where we want to be - we're on about fucking off Ade for fucks sake - he's not even on the same stratosphere of talent that ade is

Nor is anyone else if he actually uses it but we never know what we're going to get from him or where he'll be on the pitch. If RSC goes, imo we're lacking a centre forward as an option in the squad.

I think he should go to a club that plays with wide men that get some crosses in. Watch his form miraculously return.

It's not rocket science is it?

NQDP used to join me in lambasting posters who slagged off players that didn't get a good run of games to get some form going so that they could be properly assessed. Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else. It was probably Tokyo...

This is exactly it. I am sick of repeating that RSC's most successful season of his career was with exceptional supply from the wings and set pieces. Blackburn played with Bentley and Pederson, here, he has played with SWP who has hardly had a decent cross in his career, Bellamy who is not a winger, and Robinho who simply couldnt be arsed.

We potentially have the side now with Silva/AJ/Milner?, (apart from set pieces which are never destined to reach one of our players) and I would be tempted to stick with him and give him the chance to show his abilities when he has the supply. I would certainly be tempted to stick with him than spend £40m or whatever on Dzeko who seems to do the same job.

Completely different quality of player.

Fun fact: 08/09 season Edin Dzeko scored for Wolfsburg as many goals as Roque Santa Cruz scored for Bayern in EIGHT seasons he spent there.

Not doubting the qualities, but assuming we buy Milner for £30m if we already have a player who can do a job of a front man with the addition of Silva/AJ and Milner and good delivery from the wings, why not run with what we've got.

I dont particularly like or rate RSC, but I would rather give him a chance to get on the end of some quality deliveries this season than spend a further £40m for a player we don't particularly need if Tevez and Adebayor do their jobs, with RSC as a stand in. We have got the quality to do well in ALL competitions this season with what we have got, I dont see that £40m for Dzeko or £50m for Torres will make all that much difference to our season.

the bigger question is what on earth were our medical staff doing giving the thumbs up to a permanently injury prone footballer of that amount of money??????

I think the Sunderland game last season showed what kind of quality Roque has, unfortunately we struggle to get him fit and city fans need a hate figure.

I think he would be an asset if fully fit but he's not a good as Tevez or Adebayor so he wont be first choice and likely wont get a run of games unless injury hits Carlos or Ade. And t be productive he seems the type of player who needs to find a rhythm by playing regular first team football.

Its not going to happen though

I dunno, he had two tap ins in that one. I mean, credit for getting himself into that position I suppose, but I don't know how much quality he really showed there.
