Seems a bit pointless him picking the number 9 shirt now.

Spurs played the other day and had nearly all of the WC players involved in that match but we only had one back for our's against the German's......why?
simple mate.. Spurs WC players all came home early. So they returned when Barry and SWP etc returned. We have Tevez and Boateng who got to the latter stages and Silva and DeJong who were in the final. it is just as simple as that.

Tevez quarter finals...silva hardly played...Boateng could be excused.

Was in the shop at CoMS yesterday and there was a bus load of foreign kids in buying shirts (great to see - how things change) and one was getting Adebayor No 9 on his new away shirt. NO NO NO I thought to myself - pick another one!!!
Re Ade I remember coming out of that Spurs game at the end of last season and comparing how effective Crouch had been compared to Ade who should have been busting a gut that night for us - Champs League was at stake and against his old North London foes, and he was totally ineffective.
I say get rid but only if we get Dzeko in place - though of course we all get excited about these guys (Balotelli inc) and they are unproven in the Prem. Frustrating player Ade - for me too many times he couldn't give a toss last season. Seems to play in fits and starts - often you can see after 5 mins of a game that he can't be arsed when he's getting £000s every week.

Believe it when I see it on the OS, as they say about incomings.

Pinched from elsewhere, reasons why this should be classed 'rubbish' highlighted:
From Corrierre dello Sport (may be lost a little in translation):
VARESE, 24 July-Mission Adebayor. Difficult but not impossible. Juventus in the final hours has turned with great decision and safety, leaving the complicated route that could lead to the Bosnian togolese Dzeko, towards that Roberto Mancini considers redundant in its modified Unreal and powerful Manchester City. The Santa Cruz Mancio wants to confirm as an alternative to Ibra or Dzeko but has "rejected" without possibility of appeal Adebayor. LOAN-Mancini is this mind rooted on this decision that the City would not have difficulties to cede the bomber togolese also borrow (not particularly onerous) for one year. Juventus must shoulder the engagement (5,5 million) which, however, given the favourable conditions with which might have not Adebayor would represent a ostaco the so important. The company of Corso Galileo Ferraris, then, just wait until the City perfect either laborious and costly negotiations with Barcelona (Ibra) and Wolfsburg (Dzeko) then get go-ahead to Adebayor. Juventus waits for a signal from the City and aims to have Adebayor at zero cost, at least for the first year. This negotiation may also be favoured by granting an option to the City on Sissoko, a midfielder who really like to Roberto Mancini but which one does not want to deprive themselves Of Blacks. But this will possibly if import-Adebayor were to succeed in the summer of 2011 when the situation will be clearer and outlined on all fronts.

Why does it seem that no players are willing to fight for a place in the team anymore!? Just because Ade wants to go doesn't mean he will. Juve have to meet our valuation of him and will have to pay some huge wages for him. If he stays I wouldn't be surprised if he got 20 or more goals. I really don't want him to leave, but if he wants to then it's better for everyone involved.

The thing is, I'm sure he was in an interview last week where he clearly stated that he is looking forward to the new season and that he was up for the challenge of fighting for a place.
When did he go over to Italy and give that statement to them?

Good news if we don't want to sell him but very bad news that he's thinking he may want to leave before a ball has been kicked.

Well, if we're not interested in selling and Ade know's this, what real truth can you take from that article?
Seems to me that some Italiano decided to Babelfish his own quotes - 2+2=6,482,544, if you know what I mean.

The article has direct quotes from City's No9 saying he thinks he fancies leaving. Either someone has fabricated the quotes or his head's not right. I recon that's pretty good cause for concern whatever the club's intentions are. We seem to have a long list of unsettled players & it's time we settled them or fucked them off.
