Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

A two part poll - one option selected from the league spot and if you are feeling confident 3 options selectable for the cups.
Well little over one week to go till it all kicks off so what you expect from the team this year?
Now officially the most expensive squad in the league, with our owner still being true to his word and pumping in lots of money, winning something surely has to be on the agenda this year for the Sheik.
My personal expectations is that we should finish in third place this year. United and Chelsea's defensives are still too good and have the benefit of a settled squad and a proper team ethic to win game after game. We seem to rely on individual brilliance or a good 5 minutes here and there to win games so inevitably we will drop too many points.
Third should be ours though and if we don't finish there I think the squad will have underperformed as its large enough and full of quality to cope with the Thursday - Sunday matches which the Europa Cup forces upon us. Although its hard not to underestimate how draining it is coming back from some far eastern european hell-hole on a Friday morning.
I don't think we will win any cups this season: we won't take the League Cup as seriously as last year; FA Cup will go to Chelsea and the Europa Cup will be won by a side that thinks it's a top prize to win rather than a second-tier european tournament.
So what about you, has the awful pre-season results and lack of coaching direction dampened your spirits or are you super confident and going for a quadruple? ;-)

I've gone with 4th and League Cup.
As long as we win something and get Champions League football for the season after that's the main thing. All this talk about winning the title is bollocks!

I've gone for an optimistic but not unrealistic 3rd in the league and Europa Cup win ;-)

Considering the investment I think anything less than 4th would be a disaster for the owners. I'd just be happy with a cup tbh but can't see that for some reason, think it might be a bridesmaid job on those.

I've gone for the same but I think we had a genuine title shot which we may blow unless we have a fantastic week's training.

I agree. I think CL qualification is a must and preferably not in the qualifying round, and I think the Europa will be our main cup target where Mancini will always play his best team, or close to it.

i think we are all underestimating the squad due to what we saw last season and a poor pre-season. i think they will start to surprise us very quickly. i rekon we will win at least one comp and be in with real a shout for three.

Double snap.
Like to see us in the mix for the title albeit falling away in the last few weeks before finishing a strong 3rd

I went for 4th and the Europa cup. Anything less than 4th is a dismal failure for me.
The Europa cup represents the best chance of winning a cup in my lifetime. For the first time in my life we have entered a competition with the best team and even when the CL drop outs come in the majority of them don’t even want to be there. It should be a cake walk into the semi finals.
The Europa league is a Mickey Mouse tournament, however we have a monkey to get off our back and I don’t care how we do it.

2nd, but from a position where we had been in with a good shout for a win in the last few weeks. Hence, we'll all be gutted, absolutely raging.

I went for an optimistic 4th place accompanied by the FA cup and Europa league winners. We have to win something domestically so may as well be the FA cup I can't see us winning the league yet.

Made exactly the same prediction as you ross. Had £50 on City to win Europa @ 12/1 weeks ago, feel it's a great opportunity for us to finally get silverware and at the time felt it was a good price.
