SWP

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

SWP

I hope he takes his pre-season form into the league, the last couple of games especially against Dortmund was like watching pre Chelsea SWP. He beat everyman not once falling over himself and his delivery was superb which he has never had.

I had him down as a squad player but if he can perform like he has done then he's a starter for me.

Agree 100%. And on top of that (worryingly) he looks like our best defender when he drops back

He did look lively in the last game & put 2 great crosses in, which he rarely did last season. Don't see him as part of our 1st 11 personally but that doesn't mean he can't play plenty of games. If he plays less & only when fit, he may have more energy too.

count me in on this SWP love fest.

he arrived to training in Portland with a big smile on his face apparently. Maybe he has just had a good sit down with himself and decided that at his age and where he is he has the best chance this year of grabbing some glory with City. if he puts everything he has into it he takes some stopping no to be picked. I would say he is an equal first choice 11 with AJ and Bellemy, perhaps not playing the whole game but sometimes starting and sometimes coming on for one of the other two as part of the game plan.

Form is temporary, class is permanent and sweep is class.

Without a doubt.
Agree with other posters here, he has been very lively in the pre-season games.
Don't think he would be in our first XI but I get the feeling Mancini is going for a Rafa-esque rotation policy, especially with the amount of matches we may have this season. He'll see plenty of action.

Maybe he's realised that to ask for a wage increase you have to actually be playing well at the time?
