I'm glad it's not true and hope that whoever reported the story gets sued.

But that's it isn't it mate, a quote comes out from some dodgy source and some take it as fact. I understand people's concerns but some of the comments on here have really shown how some City fans have gone beyond the point of rational thinking, or as they say, 'Precious'.

A quote is a quote. If he said it. it's very bad news & a serious problem whether we want to keep him or not. If he didn't say it, we should make sure the world knows about it because they're reporting it as fact in the media & it's been mentioned on 'Talksport' right now as 'Man City striker Adebayor wants to move to Juventus'.

More ammo for people to stick the knife in. City are implying he didn't say it, they should be shouting it from the rooftops.

Ted, I have no problems with anyone having concerns about the so called 'Quotes' as long as they have been proven to be true, but in this case there is no foundation and due to it actually being reported by TuttoSport, a Juve targetting newspaper, then you've got to take it with a pinch of salt. For me, it's just like the many of our tabloids publishing something to beat us with (which they have jumped onto already with no real foundation), which we usually brush off for the shite it is.

The problem I have is that some people are using this misguided info to do the media's work for them, jumping on the back of a shite story to put the knives in themselves, feeding the furor and possibly destabilizing our hopes and chances of success. City fans saying who cares, he's head's not with us, I'd rather have Dzeko or Balotelli, and even worse, there's problems in the camp and leading to random statements of fact knowing that the foundation of the so called truth was laid on a swamp of shit.

So, you see Ted, I have no problem with your worries and concerns, what I do have problems with are the side effects that can have a detrimental affect on our club, a club that has put everything into giving us success. If one article can bring out the worse in people and they start slagging the players or questioning the management without foundation (which spreads from thread to thread and fan to fan), then how can that be beneficial to our club or allow us to push forward?

I hope you're not referring to me Beefy?

I want Ade to stay at the club

Ok you can say bullshit source etc etc...but you wouldn't expect even the most tenuous of sources to just make up quotes...at least it's very very rare

Skittish would be my word to describe the state of fans at the mo.. people flapping about like wet fish.

the point everyone is going to have to absorb and the quicker the better is that the press as a block are out to cause trouble for City and de-stabilise us as much as they can. Why oh why people cant see that i dont know as it has been discussed time and time again. There is just no point in listening or reading anything into what the press say about City, particularly players and relationships with the club and manager. The press will try this again and again and again this season, in fact you wont believe the crap they will resort to during the course of this campaign.
The truth of the matter is that there is only one team in Europe that is going anywhere this season as it is the only Club that doesn't have financial troubles.. Manchester City
dont let the press get under your skin, dont let them ruin the good karma because that is what they want.

As for Ade, a lot of us made the point that after a disaster of a season for him, the most likely thing to happen is that he comes out on fire and has the best season of his life. He has confirmed that is what he wants to do and despite the way he has on the pitch i certainly would not bet against an Adebayor with the bit between his teeth.

Now your being precious ;-)

I'm not aiming anything at anyone because I know most of us will go down that road in one way or another. When you look at the article you pasted, it actually states that Ade has been informed that he can leave the club which we all know is not true. TuttoSport ran a story, which is still on their pages, then someone else takes it and adds a little bit more. Strangely enough, TuttoSport have changed their write-up today that states they got their info from the Mirror, yet the Mirror didn't publish their story until late last night.

Like someone said, it may be a tit-for-tat because of the Dzeko deal or that Tutto wanted to sell a few more pages. Either way, in my book it's bullshit.

This is what happens when you buy in the bulk of your squad, you've got a group of player who are at Man City for two reasons. Money and personal glory. Take away one of those from them and they wouldn't think twice about trading the club in for someplace shinier.

Which is keeping the likes of Stephen Ireland and in the past Richard Dunne happy should be imperative, he's someone who actually cares about the club and wouldn't do what Ade clearly would.

Two things mate: 1) I haven't actually criticised Ade, in fact I said he would have got 20 goals for us last season if not for various problems. I've said that IF the comments are true ( I'm still waiting for City to publicly come out & accuse the media outlet of lying rather than hinting at it to reporters) judging by his past performances when unsettled, we have a huge problem. 2) I was one of the people who stood up for Robinho when the club hinted quotes of his weren't true. Turns out they were. Look how that one finished up.

If City or Ade publicly say those quotes are lies I'll believe them. Until they do, I'll believe they may be true.
