From the RTE website. He's taking the same stance as Hart I suppose.
Given threatens to leave Man City
Monday, 9 August 2010 14:32
Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has stated he will consider his future at Manchester City if he's not selected for the opening game of the new Barclays Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Given, who has recovered from a shoulder injury that saw him miss the final three games of last season, is in a battle with Joe Hart for the number one shirt at Eastlands and is considering a transfer or loan move if he's not picked this weekend.

Strange that he's apparently stated his intention without actually providing any quotes. I'm sure that the report from the Irish website about their national keeper is entirely accurate, but you could almost be forgiven for thinking they are........making it up. I'm sure they're not though.

I would laugh if that happened (for the first minute anyway, then probably cry)

I've heard that Taylor will ask to leave the club if he isn't played on a regular basis.

he probably said something like "well, obviously i want to be playing football", and the [strike]WANKERS[/strike]media do their usual fucking adding up job.
however, if he has made any type of public threat/ultimatum to the club he can fuck right off, no matter how good he is. time will tell i suppose.

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/38418.html?CMP=OTC-RSSShay Given has conceded he may be forced to seek a move away from Manchester City if he is dislodged as Manchester City's No. 1 by Joe Hart.
Given has been a star performer since joining City from Newcastle, but he has England international Hart breathing down his neck.
Ireland international Given has recovered from a dislocated shoulder to stake his claim for a start in City's Premier League opener against Tottenham at the weekend, but Roberto Mancini has made no announcement as to who will start in goal.
It is a difficult task keeping two international keepers happy and Given has intimated he may look to move on if he is deemed the club's No. 2.
"I want to stay at the club, it's a big club to be at and an ambitious club," Given said. "I want to be part of that and that's why I joined the club in the first place.
"But possibly if I didn't start then a loan deal could come into it and then come back and see what happens.
"It is probably too early to be talking about that and we will see what happens on Saturday and then maybe next week we can talk about it further."
heres the quote. it will be interesting to see how both keepers will adapt who ever is pick as #1.

ffs why can't they just tell the reporters to do one. "mate, for crying out loud i'm at an IFA press conference/training session, can we talk about that please" or "no comment" or "FUCK OFF".

In an interview with Welsh TV, Manchester City Goalkeeping Legend Craig Bellamy has expressed his desire to leave,
"I no longer want to sit on the bench behind Joe Hart and Shay Given, if the manager doesnt start me in goal on saturday then I will be looking for first team football elsewhere"
Craig then went on to state he no longer wishes to be selected for England behind Ben Foster causing another headache for Fabio Capello.
This has a quote... It must be true??

I think that Big Bri's 'mate' in the beer room will be asking to leave today.
Surreal that.
