Ant...and others...
What a bag of nonesense mate, First you assume that Marwood is being attacked when, based on information, someone is asking questions. Then, based on that assumption which you then treat as truth, you take things on to an extreme and bring left wing Trotskyists into the discussion.
Is it that difficult to accept that sometimes things can be questioned or analysed without doing an impression of a tabloid sensationalist?

I for one, have stated and reiterated that I have no axe to grind about marwood. What I am questioning is the City model and asking why a guy with so few good football credentials and no previous record as a football coach or manager should hold office in the City hierarchy above another who has far better credentials and a wealth of experience at the top of his field.

As yet nobody has answered that question adequately. Nobody has defined what Marwood actually does. nobody has defined his job, other than saying he is part of a team...but doing what?

I can understand that the business side of City has exploded since the takeover and the job of administering that business side expanded beyond imagination but I question what qualifications Marwood has over football/player's matters at our club.

Cookie said recently to our friend Doomie that he wished the press would ask and theyd tell them. Instead they just make it up. Why not ask the club why they feel Marwood was the outstanding candidate? And what he does.

Hahahaha...great idea John...why didn't I think of that myself?
Maybe because I too old and daft enough not to expect the club or any other business to give me an answer and certainly not one that was full enough to satidfy my curiosity.

I am having trouble with my emails at the moment but would appreciate it if someone else would do this for me. please.
Might be interesting to read their reponse Mate.

John, as I stated Marwood has extremely relevant experience for the role he is in. He was a player and so understands some of the pressures they have from first hand whilst having extensive experience dealing with contracts in the modern game from the sponsorship side of the fence. Also interesting that you think an ex manager/coach would be better, that always works well doesn't it! Maybe we could persuade David Pleat?

As for no-one knowing his role, this is from the OS announcement of his appointment:

"Responsible for supporting the Football Manager by building world-leading football infrastructure which will meet Mark Hughes’ requirements in terms of academy liaison, overseeing of medical, sports sciences and performance analysis, talent identification and player support."

So basically leaving the manager to look after the first team

to be fair the leon based references were more towards our friend Eoin who doesn't like him because of his sharp suits....and it was slightly tongue in cheek

he is being attacked from some quarters on here though....and quite unjustly so IMO

i think you are slightly at crossed purposes in believing that Marwood has control over football matters...a team of people (including our manager) have control over the footballing side of the business.

Heading that team are Khaldoon and the Sheikh who have precisely not bloody much football experience at all....you might say that doesn't matter as they are more remotely involved?? Well Marwood IS more closely involved and he is infinitely more qualified to be so.

Roberto Mancini has the best credentials to have the most hands on involvement...and he's the manager. I think we have things just about right and I think you and others are barking up an unnecessary tree on this one I'm afraid.

to be fair to the young lad it's Cook he hates cuz of his suit plus the affable deameanor, not Marwood. Marwood he dislikes because of the cut of his jib. Totally different kind of thing. Ahem.

Also, exposing John as a Menshevik was a shrewd move on your part. Nicely done. Altho, to be fair he was always a soft touch, and didn't have the heart of the hardliners so we should have guessed which side he'd land on.

cheers
