RAG1: Still doesn't make them title contenders... but they should have enough to be in the top 4
RAG2: It means no such thing.
If they get their act together, Liverpool will get in the Top 4. They don't have the CL to worry about and Hodgson will be pragmatic will his Cup team selections.
I think it was PeterStorey who said in the week that in Reina, Gerrard and Torres, Liverpool have three world class players on another level to anything City can offer.
What's interesting is that for all the money that City have flogged, are the players that they've bought in better than the equivalents in our side? I don't think so.
RAG1: Yeah but your going by reputation.
Tevez was miles better last season than anyone at Liverpool.
Balotelli is supposed to be one of the best players of his age in the world. Not saying I agree or disagree with that but he is considered so by almost everyone. So if he fulfills his potential he could go on to become one of the worlds best. Gerrard has never been that.
Silva is another quality talent who could easily go on to be better than the likes of Joe Cole.
Then if you take in the fact that they have players like Adebayor and Robinho as well, their array of attacking talent is way better than Liverpool's.
I'm not saying all of this will happen. In all likelihood they'll take time to gel. But because they've bought a lot of 'potential', it's an unfair comparison.
RAG2: What are you going on then?
"Supposed to" and "could easily" mean fuck all, in fairness.
Torres is one of the best strikers in the world.
Gerrard is one of the best attacking midfield players in the world.
Reina is one of the best 'keepers in the world.
You're right I'm going on reputation - they've earned it. They're not going to suddenly stop being class acts. City don't have one player in their respective positions that is better.
Even though I dislike him, City don't have a better centre half than Carragher. Nor Agger.
I see Liverpool getting 4th.
