Aye, I'm sure they do.

Would be a bit of a bonus that then. Out of CL, heads down and knowing they've got to do it all again in a lesser comp..........beautiful!

Are you sure, I thought that it was the last round who went straight out, like Celtic did?

I could be wrong but I'm sure it's later on in the comp

Didn't scouse1 drop completely out recently after getting further?

All over it:

This article details the 2010–11 UEFA Europa League group stage.

The group stage features 48 teams: the title holders, Atlético Madrid, the 37 winners of the play-off round, and the 10 losing teams from the Champions League play-off round[1]

The teams are drawn into twelve groups of four. The top two teams in each group advance to the round of 32.

Possibly yeah. This was an assumption on my part based on the teams who got beat in the last round going in to the Europa. Sounds a bit backward if you actually get further in the comp but get eliminated from Europe completely.

It says on the BBC that they drop into the group stages of the Europa. I'm torn on this, I want them to loose after last season and their arrogance but then again I want them to progress so that it affects there league progress.

That was under the old format. Theresa more teams in the competition now, so pretty sure they would go into the Europa.

If they lose, they will still after play in the Europa, but a little bit more pissed off to boot ;-)

Win, win then. Spuds miss out on the champs league afterall, lose the cash, miss out on the big signing they allegedly have lined up if they qualify and still have shit loads of games to play. nice
