well well well.
mark, people are staying out of it as you both have a point and you're both right to a degree. nobody else is gonna side with one or the other of you as we agree with you both.
no need for swearing at each other though lads, footy is not worth falling out over.

My 13 yr old son is the manager, I am just the, GK, finance director, kit man, fixture organiser and coach driver. So its all his problem, not mine ;-)

Its good to see passion and I can guarantee that Ashton wont shout Mark next time, he will bellow!! More talking on the pitch is exactly what we need, along with a little concentration

There's no hard feelings we just disagree. Grown men are allowed to swear. we'll shake hands like good boys next match and agree with each other, that the other is a cunt/wrong and that's that.

There Is no beef, just different opinions. So stop worrying people!

I should be subbed the same as everyone else.

I shouldn't be accused of not defending though when I work hard at it.

Well i cant say shit as im injured but i cant remember when but i remember someone 4 or 5 games back saying we need to do this or play certain players.. etc...

I was thinking why i even put myself forward to play with the guys on here... I put myself down to play because i thought id get to meet some decent guys ( and i have) and enjoy playing football with you (which i have)... and just have fun.

But we need to decide how serious we are going to be about this because if we are taking this serious and want to make a go off it, either winning the league or what ever? Because if ashton is left with 2-1 quite alot of the time and then mark says if he or ric was on we would of won, it kind of says that it was ashtons fault and he is shit. But what ashton was saying is he was being left 2-1 and even if ashton was a top quality defender he would still get beat if it was 2-1.

But i dont think talking about it here is good, you guys should discuss it as a team face to face as over the forum people can come across badly, i wouldnt argue with any of you on here, id wait till the game finished then say my point.

I hope you too have not pissed each other off enough that you cant play with each other?

Because we are never going to win the power league first division, we are never going to be a great team and win all 5 a side competitions because basically we are not that great of a team. We have some good players and some average players but for me its about playing with you guys and the banter on her because i think from what ive seen you all seem like great guys im glad im apart of it!

*EDIT** sorry just realised you two are cool ignore me.

Bloody Hell. Hectic thread.

I think there's some good points made on all sides, some in less inflammatory ways than others, hahaha.

It's a good job it's all about being a team, because I can remember at least two goals that I count myself responsible for last night (far outweighed by positive contributions OBVIOUSLY!). Ok, disclaimer out the way.

On the subject of subs, I think it's only fair that we ration the time we spend on the pitch equally (part from Bob), unless someone wants to come off early. We all pay the same, and we're all capable players who can dismantle most teams in that leauge if we sort our act out a bit - we're really not that far off it at the moment - last night we just didn't communicate well and defended like shite at times.

Personally I feel I take more than my fair share of my time off the pitch, and during that time it's easy to see that players perform less well when they've been on for a long time - it's only natural. I know I can play a full hour of competetive 5 a side, but I also know what I see when I'm off, and it would be daft to single anyone out because it happens to everyone. In fact sometimes, the fitter a player is, the more likely he is to tire quickly, because he takes it upon himself to do more running, more high tempo work all the time he is on the pitch.

It's good to see people are getting so pissed off about us losing and how it happened, but we need to channel it, and focus on how we can improve as a team, focussing on what we do well, and improving what we need to in the right way. If that means Ashton and Mark going on a romantic weekend away to make up, then so be it. How about a teepee in Pembrokeshire? I've heard they're lovely and cosy...

We hit the post about five times last night. Not a wide margin to lose by when all said and done, and their keeper must have sold his soul to the devil or something, he was RIDICULOUSLY good. I reckon if two of those went 'in off' and we'd won, there'd not be half the bad mood on this.

Bloody hell that was loads. Sorry to bang on, but a lot's been said and as a member of the team I wanted to say my piece as. And by the way you'd better read all of that you absolute bastards.

For what it's worth Jerome, I think once you join a league you play to win. if it's just a kickabout then we get ten lads down, pick something that looks like even teams and have a game.
There is absolutely no doubt that mark gets through plenty of work. He tackles, chases and kicks round their ankles like a good un. he has energy and plenty of strength and determination for a slim bloke. He isn't scared to get involved no matter how gruesome an opponent is. However as he plays in general in a further advanced position, he does a lot of that work in the oppos half. I appreciate Chris's point because when you are at the back and two or three are coming at you, or you think you've done enough to hld play up and then find that the simplest of passes finds a free man, it's frustrating. And that is why I refer back to my point about the more frequent subs helping keep that ectra bit in the legs and lungs.
I also think that Mark has a good point about having the strongest players at at certain times, I agree entirely. And that strongest four would probably include Mark and Ric. However there are times when the older heads are required to calm it and slow it down. It's about a balancing act that we still haven't quite worked out.
And one last point. I thought Bingo was loads better than we played at Platt Lane. He certainly wouldn't harm the team by getting there more often.
It is probably something we do need to discuss amongst ourselves before a game v soon.

Was going to bloody say......!

Come on lads don't fall out. I know passions run high but it is about channeling critism in the right way. I'm sure it will come right. If you want me to try and organise a pitch at Platt Lane let me know. Maybe a bit of practise will help iron out your differences??

Ill say it again... there is no fall out. lmao

We have both said our peice an there is no ill feeling. Im glad he said what he felt coz better to get it out in the open than bottle it up. We are men we can say shit... happens every sunday league game!

I also recognise I am a dick for they way I said I should stay on. That statement in itself opened up the door for critisism and rightly so.

Just to confirm though if you ever do need a lazy fucker who'll just stand up front, barely move and wait until the ball gets to him then I'm definitely you're man for the job! Kinda like Ade but without the touch of class in the last minute of the game. Just giving you an option guys.

Mark, you do nothing but try and nutmeg people. You're lucky to even be on the team. You are too scared to sub because you know you'll never get back on because the team will start playing well.
