I think Stevie will fail to live up to expectations this season, his head will drop and he will leave Villa park, blame someone else for his bad form, rinse and repeat for the rest of his career.

I'm sorry dazby, i know he's one of our own grown talents but you are really overrating him.

I'm going to hang my hat on this, please feel free to ridicule me if I am wrong.

Milner will be average, Ireland will be a star.

However now that he's here I've obviously started looking for the positives and you don't have to look far, his work rate is excellent and he seems to have all the best bits of Bellamy's psyche (determination, self belief etc) without the annoying whiny twat bits

As for Stevie, I loved him too Dazzler but try as I might you really can't defend his lack of performance or effort last season, there is every chance that he could go on to be a world beater at Villa and make the financials of this transfer seem a bit foolish but unfortunately he has done nothing since Mancini has arrived to show he warrants a place in our squad. I hope he shows the same respect for our fans and club as Milner showed for Villa in his Interview

I think there's a very small outside chance mate. Which is why he is valued at 8M and Milner at 24M, and why he hasn't gone to Scum, Chelski, Arse or even the Dippers. Even 'Arry didn't say "I'd luv to 'ave young Stevie Ireland' at this club". Which is really saying something, cos he seems to want every fucker else!

Maybe no one asked him? I'm sure if asked he would have told what a triffic player he is.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

no doubt Milner will look a bit average but in reality will contribute a lot.

i hope Ireland gets his mojo back and has a good season at Villa.

I do think though that it is rather silly to just take the angle that we should be comparing the two players.. all you are doing by making that comparison is keeping open both the wound and the argument. Ireland coudn't get himself into the team in a consistent way and was cutting a dejected figure. Although sad to say it he really didn't look like he was going to turn that around.. and so would be as good as useless to us. Even if he does amazingly at Villa it doesn't prove anything, it doesn't mean he would have done so in this City squad with Mancini.
