City on key 103 / 1152

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

City on key 103 / 1152

Postby Bingo Lewis » Fri Aug 20, 2010 11:54 am

what happened there then? was driving home from bristol on saturday and tried tuning in and we weren't on there, and last night was driving home from playing myself and again not on any of them. have we fucked them off? I always like hearing Hinchcliffe. Proper blue and sounded like he wanted to cry everytime we lost a game.

I could be wrong...I don't think we're on 1152. I can get it here in certain parts of the South of the Island, but it was just shit music on when I was tuning in last season.

I could be wrong, but I have always thought that GMR 95.1FM are the ones who cover ALL of citys matches? I never even knew Key 103 did any match coverage, and 1152 went down the shitter for coverage years ago!

I'm sure I heard them say the other week that they're doing it on their sister station now. Magic FM maybe? Can't remember the name :/

yeah you are wrong mate. Up until last season it alternated between 103/1152 and the show was called Total football. if us and the reds played at the same time one would be on 1152 and the other key 103. They had the scum on the other day, but haven't broadcasted any of City's matches this season. Andy Hinchcliffe was always the commentator for City's matches.

Fair do's, I never actually listened to any of our coverage on the radio last year cos I was either there or watched it online/at the pub. On the odd occasion that I have driven to the match, I have always had GMR on, and they'd been covering all the build up and aftermath of the game. Unless GMR have stopped commentary, or have now pulled out of covering the game (Since last season) they would always be the ones that I turn to. Didnt XFM have a stab at match commentary once aswell?

Last night Ian Cheeseknob on GMR said something about asking for permission from 103 FM to broadcast the game & their logo's still on the bottom of the page on City's website so I don't understand what's happened there.

I noticed that Andy Hinchliffe was co-commentating on a Championship match for Sky the other week so perhaps he's association with Magic has ended - would be a shame though because I always preferred their coverage to that of GMR.

i used to listen to Hinch last season via the key103 link on the OS. ( the commentary was in synch with spanish tv's coverage amazingly ). So i assume that was on Key103 on the radio.

anyways there was talk in the off season of Hinchcliffe having got a job with a broadcaster, yeah was Sky!! so maybe he has moved on.
if so im sad, as listening to him was refreshing. Although the div who does the interviews on the OS was always with him squeeking away endlessly.

Hinchy was doing Sky last season. He did the Sheff Weds game on a Friday night, and our game v Villa on the Saturday. I imagine he's still with us. And I thought the Key 103/BBC Manchester thing was only for midweek in Romania?

The squeaky div is now the match day experience presenter at the Stadium, he did all the MC stuff at the Valencia game and will apparently be hosting the City Square staff pre-match too
