I was rather hoping we could sell him. Some will still be expecting him to come back at the age of 28 as the 'saviour of the club'.

Must admit that I'm quite surprised that we didn't flog him rather than loan him

Vlads got skill, athleticism, pace & no fucking idea how to play football. This gives him a season to learn & practice in real games, something he's never done. If it works out he could take SWP's spot next season, if not, we know for sure he can't do it . Great move imo & stops us from dropping a huge bollock.

Anywhichway you look at it, we will need homegrown players in European competitions now and in future. Weiss is one of the best out of those.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I suppose that isn't a bad deal considering. Would rather have had him stick around and push Hart a little bit, but if he wants to go on loan then let him.

Agreed. It's better than strengthening a PL rival, and a 24 hour recall clause means we shouldn't have a repeat of last season's crisis.

It's the only way such a clause can happen...apparently you can't have the 24 hour return within the Premiership...

Really? I didn't know that. In that case, there's absolutely no way he should be allowed to go to any other Premership club.

I really hope he stays anyway.

Me.

I believe Dodgy has gone 2 whole days without mentioning 'MAN City' on SSN. Needs to be rectified.

I think gallas will be a great signing as gallas has pace and dawson does the dirty work. I can see spurs being even stronger.

the degree of difficulty is even harder. It's like Quadruple Reverse Judas with a Twist. Only 'Arry can engineer such a feet. I'm sure there's an envelope somewhere in there.

i agree with someone else who said this is really a good story for Spurs. Gallas isn't done yet.

cheers

I've said all along that I believe City's No 1 target was Torres. If injuries have put a stop to that then fair enough but otherwise, all the mutual arse kissing between him & Liverpool means absolutely nothing imo. Torres knows how much speculation there was about his future but chose to say nothing, even after Hodgeson met him, until he got to Liverpool & was told a takeover was in the offing. That's gone to shit.

No way would Liverpool ever have wanted Torres playing for City v them anyway. No way will their owners want to give the manager the money his sale generates either. Torres doesn't want to appear disloyal to the fans. IF Torres is to leave, it always made sense from Liverpool's point of view that it happens as close to the window closing as possible; season tickets bought, no time to spend the cash, Torres seen as wanting to stay.

We have 2 players for every position bar the most important; centre forward (if RSC is surplus as suggsted). I think we will try again in secret to sign Torres then possibly try Dzeko again if it fails.

I can't help but think that Bobby has got something up his sleve around a striking options. With all this money at is disposal, I can't accept that he's happy to go in to the season, one in which he is under serious pressure to deliver, with Ade, who looks so disinterested and ineffective at times, and a young kid as our target man options. At the start of the summer I actually thought that a forward and a replacement for Ade would have been a priority for him.

I'd love to see Torres join us. If we could get him right physically there's no one to touch him on his day. I'd also love to see us sign Dzeko.

I have feeling that we may still see some movement up front, possibly in and out.
