City refers to the obvious. Crew refers to the Columbus Crew MLS team, which also happens to be my hometown.

That's where you need to sort yourself out then mate, 'Citeh' is actually a piss-take by the Southerners. Here's an extract from Urban Dictionary:

Phonetic for "City" in a Mancunian accent. The name given to Manchester City by fans of Southern football (or soccer to Americans) clubs because of the way Mancs pronounce it.

Arm reet glad to be a northerener and Ah sahpport Citeh.

Maybe you're a closet Chelsea fan or a fan who doesn't know what it means to support City?

One fact amuses me.. people are complaining about Ireland's diva-like attitude, while at the same time, many here are loving the Balotelli signing. If any of you have followed Inter over the past couple of seasons, you know that Mario makes Ireland look like a pious choirboy, when it comes to selfishness.

Let's hope that "Super Mario" curtails his childishness under Mancini, since they have a previous relationship (that is supposedly good). Along the same lines, I hope Ade fits into this new scheme, up top.

Its not a diva attitude from Ireland, its blatent stupidity. He wasn't in form, he wasnt picked, he didnt improve, his attitude stunk, he is sold. He has absolutely nothing to complain about. If he does that at his next club, the same thing will happen. Form would suggest that he doesnt have a good word to say about any of his previous managers, which tells you all you need to know. Its never his fault he plays shit.

Perhaps the fact that Balotelli has just moved for £25m, and Ireland been shunted out in part exchange would give the impression that Balotelli has a little more about him on the pitch than Ireland did even when you take his volatility into account - only time will tell, but if Balotelli does the business on the pitch he will be forgiven his indiscretions.

And that's the key, isn't it? Because honestly, if Mario slagged City every week, and called its citizens a bunch of low-class sons of whores, but scored a brace every other game, I get the feeling that many wouldn't care.

I'm not sure I follow why its the key?

When I say forgive his indiscretions, with some players you know they could cause trouble in an empty house. He has already turned up late for training this season at Inter and been fined for it. If he does that here I would expect Mancini to do the same. If he carries on and shows a total disregard for the club, the manager and the rules, then I would expect he will be sold no matter how good he is as the manager won't stand for it.

That's Baconface's formula, and he hasn't done a bad job to date. Some fans will applaud the manager's stance, some will call the manager a cunt for getting rid of a top player. That's football, and that's football fans.

If he insulted the fans, he would be as good as gone anyway, however I have yet to hear of a footballer doing such a thing.

Right now, we have the money to build. Let's hope that we have the manager. (And FYI, I like Mancini. I like a sound defensive football team, which moves and passes with cohesion, which is what Mancini seems to want)

I think the most pertinant thing I heard from the club was that on ability he was one of the top 5 in the club, on mental strength he was bottom five. Unfortunately where we are going we need mental strength as well. Never mind that he has struggled to perform regularly for a number of city managers, and his best season was under one he later slagged of for not having confidence in him. But he also messed up with Ireland and that is a completely different set up where he again failed to shine.
He just has to go onto the long list of players that didn't fulfil thier potential. I am not going to hold his comments against him, as I think he is just very insecure and is not the sharpest tool in the box.

Good luck Stevie,

Good post mate, but you couldn't be more wrong with the part I highlighted.

You are probably more in teh know as to what happened there, I was always under the impression there was some form of bullying and he couldn't handle it. What really happened?

Really? I did not know that, and the reason I used it is because over on this side of the pond, American City fans use that word without discretion, for probably the same reason (i.e. they have no clue it's an insult).

As for Chelsea, are you serious? Thanks for the insult. Ironic then, that I heckled a Chelsea fan last night as my wife and I were walking out (of the restaurant in which we dined).

I feel let down by SI. I used his words to inspire others. But now? Well. Loss of dignity is not an example to others. He does not accept responsibility for his own losses. He has undoubted talents. But he didn't use the professionalism with which he was entrusted to sharpen and polish his raw skill. It is the weakness of self to blame others for your failings.

There was a thread on here, I think, started by me incidentally, in which I resolved never to watch England again whilst he was in the team. Thus far, I am doing well with that, I have not watched a minute of the England games since. So now you mention it, Ireland gave no consideration to the fans when he wasn't giving a fuck, just as Rooney thought he was immune from criticism.

Had Ireland said what he said about playing for city and stayed at city, I would never have wanted him to play for my club again. I can handle Balotelli missing training, thats the manager's problem, but having me over with shit performances because he cant be arsed is taking it way over the line.

Ireland has been shite ever since that banner went up at CoMS. I hope he took it with him to hang up there.

He's obviously very bitter and with good reason, but if he's not part of the plans it's completely understandable. If it weren't for THAT season, we'd have been shut of him last summer. His complaints about the kids at the club with bling are just laughable.

Good luck to him. No doubt he'll do well and come back to bite us on the arse Dunny style.

I just had a quick look through the post history. He defends everything, its almost as though he wants to start an argument with anybody who disagrees in any way with the players, the club, etc etc. It must just be the way they are media fed in the US, most are too stupid to form their own opinions.

And I also found a post where he told me to take a bungee jump with a defective cord. I forgot that one.To think I was even entertaining his shit. Debate over.

Wooooh, you must have upset him, that's probably a really mean insult amongst his Llloyd Grossman & Lionel Blair type restaraunt crew.
