Onouha - fast asleep again, 2 weeks running

Shocking defending for the goal today.

I didn't see last weeks goals but I hear Ned didnt cover himself in glory and AT FAULT for at least 1.

Yet some people seem to still think he should be able to keep out some of the best players in the world.

Thanks Ned, you did a job for us, but your not good enough.

Not seen today's highlights but he let Dann climb all over him for Birmingham's goal last week. Piss poor.

He's world class, don't you know??

If Sunderland play well against us I wouldn't be surprised if he sits on the bench for a while - that's two weeks running where Ned's cost them points. Da Silva was equally liable yesterday though.

Hopefully they still have Mignolet in goal when we play them - he's young and he looks very, very nervous. Gordon was brilliant against us last season too.

Vidic got left for fucking dead by Andy Caroll on Monday. If we follow the same criteria, that makes him shit forever.

Well noted John.

Cant really fathom this bias when some people automatically think academy products are the future/saviour of the club, despite all the evidence before their eyes. The list is endless of players who have been hooked because they are not up to it, yet someone is always outraged when the manager moves them on.

All perspective is lost, and only the good things they do are noted, completely blotting out the rest of it - and mistakes - because they will, of course, 'develop' at some unknown point!

Madness.

It's because we've always been here while managers come and go. We build up an affection where they see what's going on without the tinted specs. Out ofall the players that have been moved on in recent years, I think the only major fuck up was Dunney and after the season he'd had it was understandable he was let go. The mistake only became clear with hindsight.

I do think Irelend will shine at Villa though. For a season at least.

would love to see some comments if kolarov makes two mistakes in a row, i should imagine that most of the people on this thread would be saying 'he just needs time to bed in. we know he's class from the world cup'

nedum onuoha is a very good defender. top 4? maybe not, but i don't think it's right to pounce on him. there's a real viciousness floating around that i don't like.

Whilst I agree with a lot of that, it's also ridiculous to write off every player of 22 as a lost cause, especially defenders. Ned hasn't played enough football, that's his problem. If he gets games & learns the tricks of the trade, including how to win headers against monsters, he'll be a top defender, if he doesn't he won't. Same with Weiss, he's barely played a real game in his career. These lads are not playing enough football.

It's unlikely Ned will be a player for us as we'll want a better footballer. If Moyes gets him in the future though, he's got twice the natural ability of Jagielka.

Sorry mate but it's WITH the rose tinteds. And there are those who disagree about Dunney and Ireland (especially), including me! Can't see either ever making it in a top 4 team. And so far, they haven't.

I'm sure Ireland will get a goal or 2 and all the usual threads will be started, but they wont see the big hole in midfield as the oppo runs past him, or the poor decision-making in the last third that breaks down play as Villa end up 7th or 8th.

while I haven't agreed with some of your recent posts, I agree with this one. It's almost like people are happy to see him fail. I mean he is still our player, a Blue and Academy product. I'm not having that. I want all the best for him where ever he goes.

And yes, being a product of the Academy makes you part of the family. I do still try to look out for results of teams with some of the products of Academy who have left the Club.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Sorry John but this thread is daft.

As we know, defenders mistakes can cost goals, midfielders and strikers mistakes just break up play.

No one said Ned was world class, but how quickly are you forgetting how good we have seen him play? We should all know better than any others, that Ned IS a good defender, he is big, strong, fast as fuck, has abit of dribbling skill, an intelligent defender.

its the start of the season, he's moved to a new club, doesnt know anyone around him, give him more than 2 fucking games to settle. 10 games in and you'll see the real Ned.

If Bruce, as a former top class defender himself goes and drops Ned now, then he should be well aware that he basically wastes a year of an expensive loan in player. Bruce knows what he is doing with defenders and obviously must rate Ned to bid and get him. There must have been plently of other clubs after him. Bruce probably swayed it by promising him first team football all season.

Its like looking at the league table after 2 games, its fucking pointless.

Fully agree with above 2 posts and also Ted's and Crossie's remarks.
I don't know what's the point of this thread. Ned is gone and is not likely to come back to us. So why gloat ? Leave the guy in peace.
I didn't see the goal that he was supposedly at fault for but now it seems he was not !!!
I always liked Ned and I still think he will come through if he gets regular football and he is a future England defender for sure.
