Probably.
Adebayor is a far better player. He's a big occasion player too, he's the kind who'll miss a few good chances against some Romanian outfit when we're coasting through the game but will then score a brace against Arsenal.
Every other team in the prem would be happier if Adebayor left.

Me too - would offer much more - well there was I thinking after Monday that the twats on Sunday Supplement are going to have to work really hard to put a negative spin on CITY this week - and there goes Ade making it easy
I have to say, that whilst I was not a hughes hater and thought he should have been given the season - Mancini does show some real strength in dealing with players he does not really fancy - and some of the Hughes boys are starting to be a bit lacking in commitment to the project

Not sure I agree. I don't think either of them were/are shy in moving players on. Aside from having better relationships with different players, they're equally ruthless in shipping out players when they want to.
Mancini has brought in guys he's worked with before in Vieira and Balotelli, Hughes did the same with Santa-Cruz and Bellamy. To illustrate further it should be pointed out that Hughes bought Kolo, Mancini bought Yaya. I could easily imagine both of them buying Milner.

True. But we're going to have options anyway. In some ways what we need more is spark, we'll have others who can come in if he's having a bad game. Adebayor is a game changer, and he can conjure goals from nothing. No team can ever rest against him. He links up and can do a shift at times.
Reliability (up front) is for when you have someone you want to play every day, you want to rotate the game breakers. On his day Adebayor is unplayable and he's different from other options so it's perfect for when defences have sorted him out.
If there's a difference between Hughes and Mancini in transfers, I'd say that Hughes built around an older squad. There was lots of experience post takeover. Kolo Toure, Bellamy, Bridge, RSC, Barry, Given. Even young guys like Adebayor and Tevez had years of high quality prem (and CL) experience. Lescott had over 300 league games under his belt when we signed him. de Jong and Sylvinho were the only non prem signings post Robinho. Jo was out the door within 6 months of joining (impressive when he was missing for the Olympics during that time).
Mancini signed Vieira, and Yaya has huge experience, but after that you're looking at Kolorov, Silva, Milner at 24: young, but no question that they're not immediate signings competing to start. Hughes went for an immediate, immediate strategy that resulted in impatient players and was always going to require rebuilding again in a few years, even if it worked (not that big a task when you look at the squad).
