Things to improve the way we enjoy football

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Things to improve the way we enjoy football

Postby brite blu sky » Thu Aug 26, 2010 2:58 pm

City are in a fairly unique position to implement basically whatever they want.. that is a lot of freedom in this world we live in and if used well could produce real benefits to the sport, the way we enjoy it, what we get out of it, its financial footing etc etc.

With that in mind a simple question: What would improve the way we enjoy football?

Just as an example i have been thinking for years now that the experience of watching on TV is pretty crap if you think of available internet technologies, camera technologies etc. If you can't get to games then you are stuck watching something that has no atmosphere, no control of what you see or hear, forced to listen to some burk yapping about other clubs. There is no sense of occasion. In this day and age just seems like a total lack of imagination that it has not improved. Grounds could be wired up and punters could access the sound in different Blocks.. view from different fixed cameras and all the match coverage cameras. They could even have tiny spy cameras on all the players shirts to access the action from right on the pitch. In 5 years time everyone will have phones that can receive full video.. so even at the stadium you could access a camera at the other side of the pitch.. or your favourite player.. or watch from the away end Goalies perspective. You could even go to games and set something up to record it so when you get home you can watch it from a different perspective.. how sweet would that be?

Everyone must have ideas they would like to see happen.. Our owners are in a position to implement anything if they deem it a good enough and viable idea. So what do you rekon

If you pay for sky sports then each saturday just before your game kicks off, sky sends round a stripper wearing your teams colours and gives you a lapdance while your wife/gf is cooking chicken, chips and beans.... ahhhhhhhh

City winning the league & rags missing out on europe via a goal by Benjani in the 96th minute would improve the way I watch football as I'd be pissed for the rest of my life. Failing that; bring back standing.

Be cheaper to get a chef/cater and go upstairs with the wife, settle.

I've said it before but retroactive punishment for diving and enforcing a player behaviour charter that would suspend refs who don't send-off Shrek every time he opens his gob.

Technologically, I'd say internet based highlights or analysis packages with alternative commentary available (on a delayed basis) for all matches.

A maximum ticket price of 30 quid so that the working man can once again afford to go and get football back to who it was meant for thus improving the way we watch the game (with our pals)

I'd like it that the fans behind each goal had a massive tube to blow down ........ or a huge prosthetic finger to flick the ball with like in Subbuteo.

City winning the league for a decade, Scum to get relegated twice in succession and then get investigated for tapping up players for the last 20 years, fined £1bn and they shut up shop and are gone forever. Reformed by a bunch of fans and called MK Filth, they move closer to their fanbase and end up playing in Singapore. Taggart is arrested for doing his own version of "tapping up boys" and dies in prison, shanked by any of the theiving scousers that reside there. The chuckles open up an academy for footballing excellence, which the Al-Queda promptly bomb, thinking of it as a public service, people start to think they aren't all that bad. Andy Cole, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane while on a trip through southern Germany are viciously attacked by bears. 50 years on people will still be harping on about the Munich Bear Disaster and when City fans sing their famous "Teddy Bears Picnic" parody, the PC crowd will remind us that Cole was once a blue, these people will be shot on sight.

I think that would be a good idea.
Also I would like to be able to buy a DVD of the match(for a couple of quid)that has been well directed and edited.

We need to wire up Tevez with a "boot-cam" and Hart with a "glove-cam", then replay any goals/saves on a big screen in the stadium.
