Bravo ladies, keep it up.

Nice to see the official website giving the ladies team proper coverage this year btw. It's always seemed to be rather lacking in the past.

If they are all on the pitch playing football, who in God's name slices the oranges for them?

No because the Arse now play or will be playing in the new womens super league that starts in March. Clubs had to pay £250,000 to join. There are now three tiers with us in the Nothern Prem which is like the Championship, then the Premier League then the super league. You can only get in the super league if you have a shit load of cash as players have to be paid decent wages!

but conceded 3????? spastic bitch ;-) On the OS proper though....experienced keeper eh

City Ladies suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of a well-drilled Leicester City outfit on Sunday.

With both defences on top in the first half and with experienced keepers Leanne Hall and Andrea Worrall in control, chances were few.

However in the second period the game opened up with Leicester breaking the deadlock in the 76th min with a clinical headed finish. City responded when sub Becky Lee's shot was tipped onto the bar only for Becky Grocott to head home the rebound.

Leicester immediately responded with a goal a minute later after poor defending and then sealed the game in the 88th min with a fine right foot finish to record a deserved victory.

First Team Manager Leigh Wood said: "It was a disappointing result. We did well to go in at half time at 0-0 playing against the wind. We played a lot better in the second half but seemed to run out of steam with 10 minutes to go. We will be working hard in training to reverse the result when we play Leicester again next week"

Revenge is a dish best served cold or the following week with a 2-1 win when you play them again.....!!

Much better performance than last week and it's vital points gained against a team who will be challenging for the title. That's 6 points out of 6 which should see us sitting on top of the league.

Leicester City 1-2 Manchester City
Manchester City avenged last week's league cup defeat to Leicester City, with a 2-1 away win in the league fixture, which keeps them top of the Northern Division. Midway through the first half, Lindsay Savage converted a penalty, beating Leanne Hall, after Lauren Impey was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

The second half saw Savage add her second with a great header on 75 minutes, while Krystal Johnson and Becky Grocott both had efforts disallowed. Andrea Worrall was called upon to make some superb saves but Maz Gauntlett gave the Foxes a lifeline when she headed home a Natalie Reay free-kick. Further efforts by Gauntlett were denied by Worrall.
