Mancini's fault

Postby peg-6 » Sun Aug 29, 2010 4:10 pm

1. Away game with short Tevez up front.
2. Defensive mind with a small team.
3. Too late sub.

what else?

It was the same starting XI and set up that saw us take Liverpool apart.

maybe not at the start but it was obvious that we needed to take a different approach on say 60 minutes.

You can't play exactly the same way you do at home as you do away as teams are naturally more attacking when they are at home but this is what Mancini seems to be doing in his tenure. Instead of keeping the ball we should try some counter attacking football away from home and use the full width of the pitch. It's so easy to snuff out a team if everything comes through the centre at a very slow pace.

If he doesn't learn his lessons then Stoke, Everton et al will beat us this season too.

Cant see whats Mancinis fault. He put out a strong side and we dominated play in first half and should have been up by two at half time.Robbed in the end with a late foolish penalty.Frustrating result yes but by no means a game we deserved to loose by any stretch of the imagination.

I can understand the 1 up front against a top side, but sunderland? come on, teams win fuck all in england with 1 up front. too negative.

anyway, we were comfortably 2nd best 2nd half and got about what we deserved. yeah tevez did a rosenthal. but the team were really poor. 75 mins before a change worried me more; what did he see that he liked then?

For me it was carlos's fault but he aint shit just missed a sitter, and we was punished for it. Im not that down because i know on a diffrent day we would of hammered then 3 or 4 nil. We was unlucky, for me a good result against chelsea will define our season. An embarassing result and ....

It was Mancini's fault we conceded 2nd half with ridiculous substitutions weakening the team but it was Tevez' fault we were in that position in the 1st place. Our 1st half performance was well set up tactically & should have won us the game.

What the fuck he was playing at with the subs though, only he knows.

Oh for fucks sake, I know I usually over react, but we had plenty of chances to win it in the first half.

Its not Mancini's fault, as noted, that team beat Liverpool 3-0, easily.

Sunderland are a neat little side, they played with energy and alot of passion and deserved a point, but not really the win.

Lets not start the negativity after 1 defeat. 3 games, 4 points, Id have taken this at the start of the season considering who we've played, just wouldnt have thought the point would have come how they have.

Dont panic!

exactly. It's frustrating to see players like Ade, Silva, SWP sitting while our lone forward on the filed was playing poorly.

Didn´t react to their changes and that gave them some momentum at the start of 2nd half - game should have been over half time though - players and manager have to take reponsibility for that

Tbh we should be worried about that 2nd half it was very very poor compared to the 1st. I have no problems with the tactics or team selection 1st half but the way it fell apart wasn't good at all.

Have to say I'm a bit nonplussed by the criticism of Mancini for his late substitutions.
Seems to me he's being criticised for trying to win the game rather than settling for the point. And, had he shut up shop, there would have been those all too ready to slaughter him for that too.
