We need an English striker, just to cover all the bases.

Crouch. We could have used him Sunday for sure.

Maybe it's just me be I can't be arsed about the England squad and forthcoming matches. It's nice though to have so many City players in it

Mario played for the senior side in the last international round of matches

Boyata has yet to get a senior cap, ditto Ibrahim and Nimely (and Taylor).....apart from them...I think everyone who would be considered to be in th 1st team squad proper has had a senior cap I think

It wont be long for Boyata if he gets a few more games this season.

Yeah, he just has to push Thomas Vermaelen and Daniel van Buyten out of the team while pushing Jelle van Damme to left back or out too, and those other young guys like Toby Alltheworld. Then he can partner Kompany.

Alternatively it takes one or two injuries during a busy season, with Boyata already making a provisional senior squad recently. (and Van Damme was used as a fullback in the latest Wolves game - providing an assist with a pinpoint cross)

You also have Vertonghen who plays CB at AJAX, but as moved up to midfield with the national team. I reckon he's ahead of Boyata for a CB position if any of the other ones mentioned are injured.

----------------------------Joe Hart
Glen Johnson, Michael Dawson, Joleon Lescott , Ashley Cole,
James Milner, Steven Gerrard, Gareth Barry, Adam Johnson,
-----------------Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe

That on current form is the best line up for that squad, and although the backup is a bit shit, I reckon thats a decent first 11.
Obviously Rooney on form would be first choice but he seems shot to shit at the moment, and doesn't warrant a starting spot. No doubt he will start though, but that is how I'd like to see Capello run it.
