Holt was originally more of a City fan who disgracefully became a rag lover. After years of slagging us, Cook & Co made a big effort to talk him & his mates round by selling them 'the project' & the idea that we were different to others; would give the manager time etc etc. Holt & his mates printed what Cook told them & were very supportive, often arguing our case against other hacks. While this was going on, Cook was having clandestine meetings with Mancini & proceeded to sack Hughes in one of the worst PR disasters in City's history. Some of the journo's have not & probably never will forgive City for making complete twats out of them in public.

Henry Winter & one or two others seem to be slowly coming round but I think Holt hates our guts now.

Ted, you keep telling us this story and defending their corner, however you do mention that Cook and Co. made an effort to win them round. To most that would suggest that we were just buying their 'Love' and we were selling our soul to the Devil (Worshippers), allowing them into the inner-most sanctums in order for a bit of bullshit publicity.

Maybe, just maybe, it was done in order to piss the slugs off and I for one back our management wholeheartedly in giving these scrotes the treatment they deserve. Most of them are just there to push an agenda, but we are there to push for the title, and Cookie and Co know who'll come out on top.

Who in July would of thought that 6 players would play for England?

Hart - Not even number 1 with us yet.
Lescott - Only an injury a LEFT BACK for us and an injury to THREE centre backs with England is the only reason he has been playing.
Milner - Still a Villa player
Barry - Defo
Johnson and SWP - Still subs.

Meanwhile we were buying Yaya, Silva, Kolarov and Baoteng for big money. Maybe he was right at the time from an England's point of view.

As for the Piers Morgan praise, it makes me want to vomit!!!!

Well the fact of the matter is that clown Woolnough blamed our club for Englands piss poor World Cup and yet not 2 months later 6 City players help England win away in Switzerland something only one other nation has done in 24 matches.I cant believe you are defending the clown.

He blamed the situation of the premier league and the foriegn ownership on England's piss poor world cup. Not defending him, just not slating him as it's different in hindsight.

I'm just not happy to do what the rags do; distort history & come up with scenarios to fit various cock ups we've made & pretend it all went to plan. We need to learn from mistakes, not pretend they didn't happen. We courted the press because we wanted them on our side, no other reason. We fucked up. Someone somewhere should have been explaining how that could go wrong.

There are certain subjects I'll never back down on as long as I live because we got it fucking wrong. The complete, fuck up we made of Hughes' sacking was one & the ridiculous dumping of Bellamy was another.
We've dropped bollocks & we should take it on board & not do it again rather than behaving like Comical Ali.

No, just ignore them and when something wonderful happens such as half the national side being City players, enjoy that moment, it's never happend before and was a wild dream 10 years ago. Just like when we win the league or the champions league just enjoy the moment instead of rushing to the nearest internet cafe and e-mailing these worthless talentless hacks in the press whilst everyone else is out celebrating the win. Used to be of the same opinion and have sent e-mails in the past myself but with us getting battered by every single paper these last two years i've come to the conclusion of whats the point? It was ruining the enjoyment for me.

My advice would be to ignore them, sending a hack hundreds of e-mails will just make him masterbate more, contoversey and bullshit keeps people in jobs in the newspaper and media industry these days. You only have to look at Piers Morgan to see how his career has progressed since his shambolic fake pics in the daily mirror. No other industry would make PIers Morgan a famous, wealthy and powerful man after such a disgusting act of humanity.

If nobody stands up to them they will just keep producing stuff to suit their Rag, Liverpool, southern biased readership until everybody believes it. We have to fight our corner whilst showing the better quality reporters that we mean business & are a positive influence in the game. Overwhelming bad publicity is not something you can just sit back & ignore. If it was PR wouldn't exist.

Receiving e-mails from angry football fans or protests and phone in whinges will not change anything. They will continue to write OTT bullshit as it sells and that is all papers are bothered about. Not the quality of writing but how many copies they shift. We know as fans what the future holds and that Sheik Mansour and Khaldoon aren't your averge Thaksin/Gillette owners. They don't and neither to opposition fans as they are too thick or ignorant to read up on them and what they plan to achieve.

I have no idea one way or the other as to the real reasons behind the Hughes sacking but I always had the feeling that the decision was made above Cook's head and that Cook was left to carry it out and cop the major flak as well as being made to look a bit of a tit having backed Hughes previously. Anyway rightly or wrongly I do cut Cook some slack on the Hughes sacking or maybe my views on Hughes prevent me from getting too outraged about it. Might as well be honest I guess :)

If enough people give them shit, they will think it's better to not write lies about the club. Woolnough mentioned on his Sunday hack show that he'd been 'slaughtered' by City fans for writing that. No way did he appear particularly happy about it, in fact he seemed concerned, if not a little worried & said very little else. He didn't enjoy our response at all.
Notice they still haven't 'done' Ferguson for not speaking to the BBC yet. Why? Because he fights his corner & they don't like having to deal with him. The press are the same; scared. We should fight our corner too but also reward decent honest writers with our own honesty & take genuine fair criticism on the chin. We should not however, take shit from anyone.

First of all, Brian Woolnough. All he's done is jump on the bandwagon and slag City which is the latesh fashion these days. Couldn't give a fuck to be honest. He's a journalist and he's catering to the masses. What else do you expect?

As for Piers Morgan, for anyone who thinks he gives a fuck about city is completely deluded. Piers Morgan is controversial for controversial's sake. He knows fuck all about football.

I read an article by him maybe a year ago or so, and he demanded Wenger to be sacked so Arsenal can progress.

Piers Morgan makes his money purely on 'shock factor'.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

Does this mean we're not aloud to gloat? I've spent nearly 40 years following City and I've been gloated at from every fan representing nearly every football team in the league, for one reason or another. I've been personally on the arse end of criticism for Citys failures more than I can remember.

Now with the boot on the other foot, we're expected rise above it? This is football. If someone rips the shit out of your team and your team proves them wrong, that someone should be told, IMO. Saying 'I told you so' is just rubbing salt into the wound, which I'm very happy to do under the circumstances.

Woolnough wants the "new England"... Doesn't mention if he's happy with 6 blues in there. Asks whether Lescott would stay in ahead of the drugs cheat and captain shagnasty. So if he's wanting a New England, I don't know who he's playing.

Not watching it but imo it's more than just wanting to sell papers that's motivating some of these blokes. There's an orchestrated attempt to do us down whenever possible & it's down to their cosy relationships with the established top clubs.

C'mon sis. You know when Chelsea and Scum buy players they are working well to improve the team. When City buy players they are a bunch of mercenaries.

Standard journo bollox.

Thought they were particularly lacking in any City knowledge this morning. Apparently the reason why we missed 25 chances against BB and why Sunderland got a last minute pen and Tevez missed a granny sitter, is because our players fall out all the time.
