well we can write of the title now, (if anyone actually thought we had a chance) already 7 points behind chelsea, i reckon they will stay 1st from now till the end

Thanks for this thread, its made me realise other people feel like me.

Then it makes me realise a stupid game can potentially ruin my weekend and affect my mood.

Why should it?

It doesnt anymore.

we will be lucky to repeat last seasons acheivments at this rate. I know that alot will be said about having so many out already through injury but the truth is we still have more than enough talent to beat teams like Blackburn.
If Boby doesn't get this lot going soon we may strugle to get that winning mentality in place to mount a late charge, god i hope im wrong as its still early days.

This time last season we had 12 points.

We currently stand on 5. Can Cook confirm if that trajectory is good enough for him??

Still Wigan up next in the league. Hope we can start with at least 8 defensive minded players against that shower. We will really impose our game that way eh "Bobby."

one minor consolation, for the identical four fixtures last season we got 5 points so no change there

Spot on, an individual errors cost us a win, aside from that it was a decent performance from the players on the pitch. Whether the right players were on the pitch at the start or the end is the contentious part for me.

Whether different players (Eg, not playing Vieira, SWP) would have forced the issue a little more, or given us any more invention, suppose we will never know.

It was all toooooooo sloooooooooow!!! Only johnson actually got the attack moving forward. Even the forward players seemed to take an age to get back when they were on the counter. Yaya and Paddy should never ever start another game together as it just created constant sideways play. Silva should of come on alot earlier and not in a million years for Johnson

A frustrating result, and some questionable decisions/subs (AJ and not Milner).. but you can still see we are a better side than we were last year. I'm confident that we'll click, and that when we do we'll go on a good run. Silva is being eased in, and we should see him used gradually, more and more. Balotelli/Boateng/Kolarov to come.. I am still very optimistic for the season!

All in all, a slow start and a poor result today, but absolutely no reason to give up on a title challenge just yet - it was unrealistic before the season, and even more so now, but I'll not be giving up hope.

Let's drink tonight and remember, at least we weren't 3-1 up, with only added time to play out.. Weekend ruined? Meh

only conceded 2 goals so far. 1 was a stupid pen when richards go himself on the wrong side of bent and the other was a total fuck up from Hart. Silly mistakes that when ironed out, will mean we are a solid defensive unit, especially as we have 2 of our best back four to come in yet.

The worrying thing for me is goals, only 4 so far and 3 of them against liverpool, its a poor return considering we have played blackburn and sunderland!

We need to dick wigan next week and we normally fall on our arses away at Wigan... time to step it up fellas.

Barca 0-2 Hercules min 63 - happens to the best. Funny how all the Barca fans here in Alicante are now Hercules fans of a sudden!

Werent sharp enough in the final third, and we had umpteen chances to score more than one goal.

On another day we would have scored 4 or 5. Problem is after giving away a "typical City" goal to them, we gave a stray dog a bone and they had something to hang on to in the game. If we had scored the first goal today we would have won that game in a canter.

Chelsea out of sight now, no way we make 7 pts on them. That said, everyone else is in reach but we need to put a run together, and stat playing better away from home. Actually scoring away from home would be a start.

Hughes must be having a quiet smile to himself tonight what with Fulham above us.

Whatever way we try and dress the last two results up, ultimately 1 point is utter shit.

We will be punished time and time again playing slow tempo "possession football (that we dont hold onto)" until Mancini finally learns to play to our strengths first and fuck worrying about what the likes of Blackburn bring to the table (which is very little.)
