Yesterday was in short a frustrating day for city.We dominated the game and thoroughly deserved a win on the balance of play.

We should have won but for combination of poor finishing, a great display from Robinson and one horrible defensive gaffe.
It just did not happen for us yesterday, we had an abundance of chances to finish the game off.

Im not one bit keen on the idea of Tevez as a lone striker but we had little in terms of options with Mario and Adebayor unavailable.
The game stats show city had complete dominance of the game, so we must be doing something right.

Possession 65%-35%
shots on target 10-3
shots off target 7-3
corners 14-1
pass success 82%-62%

We're keeping possession better than we probably ever have but considering how much of the ball we have, we're fucking useless around the penalty area. Just watched Birmingham v scousers & they created (& missed) more chances v them than we did, just by putting good crosses in. Johnson is brilliant on the ball but hasn't found a City player in our box in 4 games. The only decent final ball he's played was to DeFoe. Milner's been a bit better but SWP is a waste of fucking time as a wide player. Tevez created the only real chances for Vieira & Jo. Rags, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea have all picked out goals this weekend from more difficult positions than we find ourselves in 20 times per game.

Our approach play is Champion's League class but our final ball is relegation standard.

Hands tied behind our backs at the moment due to lack of players. 6 key players missing yesterday, and Tevez half fit

Yet we still played some good football before the goal, and in fact the general performance was still OK. Not saying there isn't room for improvement, but I don't think the manager's tactics are an obstacle. Our problems are players like Milner learning about their new team mates game, and getting injured players back

You never know what's going to happen in a football match, but we've not had our fair share of luck in the last 2 games, and perhaps individuals like Tevez and Hart have made uncharacteristic mistake which are far more significant as to whether we play 443 or 442

Plenty of stuff suggests we are getting things right and yes I agree the 2 " mistakes " were exceptional. I do get that, but mistakes that costs games don't have to be exceptional as was proved last year. They just have to be mistakes and we have to cut them out and cut them out quickly.

I don't feel there is any need for panic at all but at the same time I find it interesting to hear and read all the comments like they are just exceptional mistakes , or they need time to gel ,we are missing key players. All true no doubt but in the meantime Chelsea are 7 points ahead.

To be fair, I think a challenge at the top of the table is realistic but Chelsea will have 10-15 points on everyone and be out of sight of by the end of October. There is not a snowflake's chance in hell we were realistically going to challenge Chelsea this season. Our aim has to be to give arsenal and the rags a run for their money

----------------NDJ--------------
Milner-----------Yaya--------------AJ
---------Carlos------------Mario

Subs: Shay,Ade,Silva,Kolo,Micah,Boyata,Barry

Bitter pill to swallow but can`t see any problems scoring with .that lot. I much prefer 4132

7 points ahead? Pffffff, we'll claw 6 of them back when we play 'em!

Why aint we scoring? Its all pretty but no devil. Of course it doesn't help when you railroad the only one with a bit of devil out the feckin club. But as Hughesie says, leave the manager alone and he'll build a decent team. He feckin ought to , money thats been spent, but I dont think he's doin much wrong given what he's got available.I quite enjoyed yesterday but came away with a sare throat from screaming abuse at that clown Clattenberg. He has got to be the worst ref in the Prem by a feckin mile, and thats saying something given the others include Walton and Bennett.
