Pretty easy these days, with CT and MRI its pretty straight forward to see whats going on. Which pretty much proves this story is bullshit, you can't fake a torn muscle unless he is getting someone to photoshop the scan, and all clubs these days will be carrying out those kinds of tests. But its in the News of the World, written by idiots, for idiots. Never believe a word

Having back and knee problems, I know they have injected me with iodine and done an athroscope. The one inside my knee to examine my cartilage was amazingly painful.

This story is a load of bollox. Not Slim's, the NOTW story. Although Slim's is a close second.

It is also true that Shankly would refuse to speak to an injured player until he was well again, ready to start training and compete for a 1st team place. If a player wasn't available for selection, Shankly wasn't interested in him.

Was it Tommy Snith or Emlynn Hughes who played half a season with a broken toe because they daren't own up to it in case they lost their place (might have been under Bob Paisley)

Suggestion on Radio 5 during the game was that they'd been informed by City that there had been a disagreement between Ade adn Mancini regarding the injury and how long it would keep Ade out for but that it was not a bust up as some press had reported it.

Sounds again like the press taking a fact that would be ignored at most clubs and using it for their agenda. Saying that, during the commentary, Radio 5 made the comment about the pressure on Mancini having spent £120m, the club might expect a better return than 5 points and 13th place. Didn't mention it again at the end of the game when we'd played the same number of games as everyone else and were 4th.

It.ll get mentioned again next week if Chelsea turn us over. We're in a bit of a no-win situation with this at the moment.

You did indeed. I just wanted to introduce a bit of calm. Chelsea have to prove to the world next week, City don't. We can afford to lose. Let's face it we are ruining football (apparently) i think we will win.

Chelsea have nothing to prove at all. They are a high quality side who will compete for all major honours this year and maybe they can afford to lose and it would simply mean they are beatable. But they would stay top whatever.

I don't think we have anything to lose either in a way although I don't like the idea of we can afford to lose and I don't like the idea of losing. But if we do I hope we play well and don't go down easily.

Well Doug last season we did something not many teams do against Chelsea we doubled them so they will be looking to right a few wrongs in their eyes which may in a perverse way give us the edge.

I disagree completely. Ade was excellent last season when he had a consistent run in the team. Give him four or five games and he will score goals.

14 premier league goals in 26 games is a pretty good return.

I know he appears to be lazy but I really don't understand why he gets so much stick

I have such bad luck choosing city players in my fantasy team - I would have thought ade and johno would have wracked up 20 points between them by now but its a big fat ZERO... come ade and mancini - sort it out

I agree with you mark & xavi.
Yes he's imo badly off form right now but with a run in the team I'm sure that would be solved rather sooner than later. Shame he's injured and can't take part on Wednesday (or could he? what's the latest injury news)

when he has played we looked 1000% more dangerous than before he stepped on the pitch.

i'm a fan of Adebayor, unabashedly. He does get lost and down sometimes, but he does way more good than harm. easy peasy. he should be in the starting side when fit. And dragged off at 60 minutes when he's marked out of the game and not putting a shift in which tends to happen. when he feels he can't influence the match he's useless, but if he's operating with confidence he's just breathtaking i think. strong feet, a great header of the ball, deceiving pace, a savvy touch...all of it.

cheers

Come on Doug, Wake up ! what are you saying ? they've had the easiest start so far . The are a top quality team and they can play football.

The onus is on Chelsea to prove why the are the dogs bollox.

Not on us, to prove that we are anything but the next team most likely to.....

We took six points off them last season and we deserved every one of those six points.

I think Ancellotti will be more worried about City than Mancini is about Chelsea.

Of course they have to prove why they are top of the league.
