The ***OFFICIAL*** I Love Mancini Thread.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The ***OFFICIAL*** I Love Mancini Thread.

Postby sandman » Thu Sep 23, 2010 7:57 am

This is a positive thread is for the people to register their gratitude to Mancini for treating the Carling Cup with in the manner it requires.

The club are finally using common sense and prioritising correctly rather than spreading themselves to thin, even if it doesnt pay off this weekend against the Premier League Champions (lets face it the odds are still against) it will pay off over the course of the season as the club have less games so they can now focus on what really matters, The Premiership and the FA Cup.

Thank you Bobby Manc.

We are turning into a right arrogant set of wankers. I thought it would happen if we started winning things but when we've won fuck all? Amazing.

Ha ha, Last year I was pleased we faced United in a cup competition and I was gutted we got knocked out because of who knocked us out, other than that I honestly dont care, its a reserves competition. I would love a day out at a cup final, but looking at the bigger picture winning the FA Cup or coming higher in the Premier League will attract a better class of player and focus to our club. I am not that desperate for success that I would want the club jeapordise the long term for short term glory.. This is a positive thread, give us a smile :o)

About the same time we started saying that rags were jealous of us. Such disgusting and utter tripe it's honestly beyond me now, I fear that the majority of our posters have become worse than the red filth and without a cabinet full of trophies to back it up.

i mentioned this on bluemoon a while back (when i was a member on there... shudder) and i got alot of abuse. its true though. people moaning because we havent signed players like torres etc. its disgraceful. id give my left bollock for the club to win the carling cup. the arrogance is appaling from alot of our fans.

Got to agree.

We treat League Cup like we have bigger fish to fry when in reality this and UEFA Cup are/were our only realistic chances of winning things.

I understand all the money blah blah blah arguments but I would've taken League Cup over top 4 finish any day of the week.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Wait until UEFA take a euro place from the 4th placed finisher and League cup winners. It wont matter at all then who finishes 4th or who wins the cup. If clubs keep de-valuing the league cup I can see that happening. England is close to losing its extra champs league place already. As for Mancini hes pissed in this cup and thrown it over the people who went to see the team last night, for fucks sake I've been hearing how much quality we've got lets go out with a bang and not a whimper eh? perhaps when this pot is in the cabinet City can afford to be a little more blase about it.

We need to wait until next Christmas to rate in a correct way Mancio's job at Eastlands. If I could speak with him, I should only ask where does he forget his wonderful white and blue scarf!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

I am amazed that so many people are so desperate for mediocre silverware that they are happy to jeapordise the league, the higher we finish the more credibility we receive (Champions League), then the better players we attract and the better we become.

I just feel as if people on this board have stopped caring about improving over the long term and are totally obsessed with silverware, then those of us who can be patient and support the clubs decisions when they are forced to make a small sacrifice (Carling Cup) for the bigger picture are now being called arrogant and as bad a rags? Who are the ones really as bad as rags? I'd rather see better football week in week out than have a shiney pot to talk about to my Munich friends while they poke fun at us still being in the Europa league.

We saved ourselves from playing a maximum of about six games with that garbage last night. Oh joy!

All I can say is we'd better see some kind of a performance on Saturday.

Yes, six games, that is a lot of playing / training given the already busy schedule. Plus thats six games that Spurs are not going to have to play in their challenge for 4th place.

Nobody ........ not ONE person on this board, has suggested we should have put out a full strength team last night. But you and a few other Wallys are suggesting it was all well and good to put out what was just about the most WEAK team we could field.

My heart bleeds for the poor fuckers who just MIGHT have had to play two games in a week had we fielded just a slightly better, more cohesive team.

Thats just fucking stupid, we need 4th this season more than anything else. if it meant getting knocked out in the 1st round of every cup comp this year but finishing 4th, i would gladly take it. We need to attract top class players ASAP and i dont think winning the league cup is going to do that.

Although i do think Mancini is a c**t and should have treated the game last night with more respect and still be clear that we are concentrating on the league

The first team have to face Chelsea, Juventus and Newcastle all within the next 10 days, all three games that I am sure you will consider as being must win games. Mancini took a BIG chance in resting those players and gave our young players a real run out in a real cup competition along the way and also saved us around six games in a hectic schedule. We are not at the level of Arsenal, Utd or Chelsea's first teams yet and Spurs are already out of this competiton so having one less distraction is a good thing.

Because I am not desperate and pathetic enough to only crave a silver pot so that they have to take their banner down.

I would rather see the club improve more in the long run, I see the bigger picture and whats best for the club going forward.

Apart from calling Mancini a C**t I agree totally with you. I would have been happy if he'd have included one or two more first teamers, but we do have bigger fish to fry.

You seem to be a bit of an arrogant fucker yourself if you think you can make assumptions as to what our reasoning is.
That banner bothers me yes ........ a bit.
The lack of a a trophy also bothers me ............. a lot.
