People calling Mancini a cunt, people asking for his head and those who say yesterday wasn't important are accused of arrogance and not loving city as much, even being rags
Were 4th in the perm, we have a season ahead of us that could be wonderful, chill for fucls sake

My worry is that the hunger for success and the money fuelling it has gone to some posters heads. Those who are trying to remain calm and level headed and looking at what little this means in the grand scheme of things are being called arrogant by those who only have trophies on the mind? So who are the ones becoming more like rags? The ones staying behind the club despite bad times or the glory hunters?

but it's cutting both ways - you yourself are accusing people of not being behind the club/being glory hunters for getting pissed off at last night's result. who the fuck would bother posting on here if they were not blues? (or walmai)
right now last night has only one label - a gamble. trying to dress it up otherwise at this point is pure conjecture.
for the record mate, i really fucking hope you are right. time will tell.

Got to agree.
We treat League Cup like we have bigger fish to fry when in reality this and UEFA Cup are/were our only realistic chances of winning things.
I understand all the money blah blah blah arguments but I would've taken League Cup over top 4 finish any day of the week.

could you be any more patronising? "results brigade" - could you explain this term please? am i a result-licker for not being happy about last night?
christ on a bike some risible shit gets posted on here sometimes.
brite blu sky wrote:Dont know if i can be more patronising than that, i work on it.. This isnt aimed at you or even this forum, it happens just as much in real life.. and it bugs me.
In terms of football sometimes it is justified i know.. but sometimes when there are fairly obvious circumstances or excuses as some would have it then it just gets me. results brigade is the type of fan that didn't even see the game but then gets completely ott about the result only... hence they are not even interested in the circumstances of the game eg shit ref and only look to the results.
It was a generalised comment and not in response to last night game by the way, in case you thought it was.
im sure some stuff bugs you..

I quite like him as a bloke, I'm happy to give him time to get it right but fuck me it's more about liking having a suave italian manager and a heavy dose of baseless optimism (oh....and the backing of the sheikh!) that is keeping me positive.
I was more than happy to see the likes of Boyata, Ibrahim and Guidetti out there last night but fuck me what was the silly italian cunt doing with the rest of the defence.
Javan Vidal??? Since when has he been anywhere close??? And Cunningham, why doesn't he go to join his mates at Villa....he's 100% not good enough. Mee......well unfortunately the same is probably true of him.
However, notwithstanding the potential lack of quality of any of the above three players....to field them all together against a fairly seasoned (PL) team, even a weakened one was poor management.
Last night Mancini failed us the fans, failed the club and he failed those young lads

ok.
what bugs me in relation to our shared interest is city losing games. whether or not people are looking at the "bigger picture" every blue has a right to feel pissed off and disappointed at last night. Last years run is the closest thousands and thousands of blues of the younger generations have come to the elusive trophy, and seeing the chance to go one better snatched away from us last night was upsetting. and it is still upsetting no matter how much logic i bring to bear upon it.
come the end of the season we may have loads to shout about and no cunt will remember yesterday evening nor the debate on here today. we could just as easily fall flat on our faces again and be left ruing the gamble we took last night. none of us have any way of knowing for sure but when the weight of your life experience leans on one side which feeling will win out? optimism or pessimism?
jam tomorrow means we are still starving right now.

TBH, just look at the circumstances. Three 1st team defenders fit.. needed for Sat at 12.45. So in go a whole back line of kids with only Boyata as one whos any good at present development. We lost the game cos those defenders switched off at the wrong time and the late subs couldn't rescue the game. end of.
Now how that gets turned into a massive debate about glory hunters, arrogance, manager out etc etc etc... is beyond me.
Just to back up the point again.. If we had Wolves at home on Sat afternoon or evening, then Bob could have played Vinnie and/or deJong and Albion wouldn't have had even a sniff in the whole 90 mins.

Im not picking this out for any other reason than it has been stated a lot in various ways, but you put it very clearly NQDP. My question is very simple for those that think similarly...
Do you think that the Club, Manager and Players think like this ? ( CC over top 4 )

probably not. All players seem to be talking about is Champion's League and many supporters treat it as some sort of promised land. For me CL is the REAL mickey Mouse competition.
Which brings us to one question again, who are they doing it for? They are (should be) doing it for supporters. And if supporters want to see us give League Cup at least some sort of go, then they should do it.
But like I said, I didn't see this game so I'm also not in position to comment whether we were dead unlucky to go out or did we deserve what we got.

I just feel as if people on this board have stopped caring about improving over the long term and are totally obsessed with silverware, then those of us who can be patient and support the clubs decisions when they are forced to make a small sacrifice (Carling Cup) for the bigger picture are now being called arrogant and as bad a rags? Who are the ones really as bad as rags? I'd rather see better football week in week out than have a shiney pot to talk about to my Munich friends while they poke fun at us still being in the Europa league.

What the fuck, on God's Holy Earth, gave you the impression that it was a CHOICE between 4th place or the Carling Cup?!!
Cast your mind back to 2006, when the rags hadn't won the league for a few years... Baconface said he truely believed that the league cup win spurred them on to greater things purely because it gave them back that winning mentality. In the modern game we have never even had that "winning mentality" and you think for some reason that getting knocked out at the first hurdle of the most realistic competition that we can win is a "positive" thing?
Either you're on a wind up or need counselling mate.
