Can't choose between Kompany, Kolo, De Jong or Barry - they all gave man of the match performances.

Kolo all the way for me. As well as playing centre half anytime drogba or Amelia went at us down the left he swapped to rb to take the pressure of boyata and stop Chelsea exposing us there.

He must have swapped 20 times all seamlessly and then went straight back to the middle when the danger shifted. He was fuxking brilliant.
Tracking back is overrated.

Togetherness and focus on game plan has been definitely the key, so that I feel quite ashamed to single out one.
Anw, mostly because the very assured performance of the back 4, my vote goes to Vinnie.

Hat off, Lads. Very proud of City!!!

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Are you fucking joking me? All game my mates and me were commenting how this little guy was not only getting stuck in, he was winning the ball as well. When he kicked the crap out of Ivanovic he probably deserved a card, but we thought it was hilarious.

After watching the game again....Gareth Barry. Completely understated, but a complete all around performance and he stats at the end were amazing, 42/42 passes, 9/10 tackles, 4 interceptions.

42/42. does that not include his cross field ball that went 15 feet over zabbas head?

but yes barry was very very good.

I thought Zaba was 21 feet tall as well this game.

I have spent ages looking up and down the list then thinking about the game...conclusion...There were so many good things from so many players that I cannot split them. For me this was the best TEAM performance I have seen for ages...sadly there is no TEAM option.

I don't think he is a bad player and he does good work, but it's being highlighted glaringly that he isn't a wide man and certainly not against good fullbacks. Gave up the ball 10 times due to being tackled and 12 times to bad passes.(Although 5 were crosses) and I have no doubt at all it was due to his being forced to the sideline and squeezed out of possession.

The only realistic option would have been Jinky and I fear he would have drifted out of the game as Ivanovic gave him a good early booting.

It wasn't milner's fault that zabas passing was pretty shoddy in the first 30 mins.
However, i agree with slim about silva and is why i voted for him, he was every inch as good as the others in midfield
Today and was very creative too.

Have to agree with john68 though it really was a tough choice.
This was a great game between two very strong teams. We kept chelsea out for the most part and restricted
Them to mosty poor long range shots. Anelka was very poor ( or kept quiet by a great defence ?)

I loved the way Boyata took out drogba a few times, brilliant and that dirty git souness had the balls
to suggest the refs will be watching out for him in the second half!

Milner had his moments though, he made some great recovery tackles, he won the ball that led to our goal too.

Milner was an integral part of the team who was a fucking relentless machine pushing City forward & tackling back. An 80 yard run followed by another 80 yard run probably doesn't register when it's off the edge of your tv screen but it fucking does when he goes past you.

I voted for Vinny but there were so many MOTM candidates including the manager for engineering it.

milner didn't have his best game, especially with the ball, but i wouldn't have taken him off due to the amount of work he was getting through. It wasn't a robinho type bad game, where he just sat on the line pretending the game wasn't happening, he was up and down the line, stopping ivanovich getting 2 on 1 on zab. As a result, the ball didn't get played out that way. It also didn't get played that way as every time essien got hit, he got hit by a barry/de jong sandwich.

Silva kicking seven shades out of Ivanovich was hilarious. Yes he's only small, but I don't recall seeing Dickov shirk a challenge, either

Our defence and midfield were all excellent and prevented Chelsea from scoring. However that only brings 1 point. The other 2 points were won by Tevez and that's why I voted for him.
