This might be why Bobby made him captain, not only because he's likely to be the 2nd name on the teamsheet, after Joe Hart, and to show him how much he is valued, especially as it was Sparky who signed him. Obviously Bobby doesn't want to make the same mistake as Taggart and make him feel unloved by his manager.

There is no way in he'll hart is the 1st name on the sheet. It took all off season to decide for bobbo.

Pretty sure he won't be in two minds now though. I think it's safe to assume Joe is one of the first names picked.

He is consistently immense. I didn't think he had his best game in blue shirt today yt still came up with the good when it mattered. He tries his heart out for 90 minutes and is hard as fuck.
Sure he played for that lot but I honestly don't think we would be near as good a team without him and I wouldn't swap him for any other striker in the world at the moment.

Yes, but the worrying thing is that we are overreliant on him going forward. When he has off day, like against Blackburn and in Sunderland, we are absolutely toothless going forward.

This is the next thing that needs sorting quickly. We need to start creating more from the whole team but also get more attacking players onto the pitch v the lesser teams & find out exactly what we've got in the squad & whether we need to sign someone in Jan. It's one thing playing that system v Chelsea but another entirely using it v Blackburn at home. I'd also like to see Guidetti get a few chances from the bench because his style & attitude suits everything Mancini is trying to do.

An occupational hazzard when you rely on 1 player in a system so much like Mancini's system does on Carlos.
If Tevez plays well, we win. If he plays poorly, we dont.
If he's not there at all, its lottery time.
Not good.

Could we get Top 6 without him? i'm not so sure really. Can anyone recall our pts haul from when he had to fuck off to Argentina to deal with his sick child? i remember feeling like the season was lost because of it, but hindsight is, as they say, asshole vision. Anyone recall the actual facts of the matter in terms of when he left/returned and our pts totals?
cheers

Drew 1-1 with Stoke in the FA Cup, then drew 1-1 with Stoke again but in the league, then drew 0-0 with Liverpool, got beaten 3-1 at Stoke in the Cup replay. So no wins. Then he came back and we beat Chelsea 4-2, Wigan 3-0, Burnley 6-1, Birmingham 5-1 and Fulham 2-1. Lost to Everton though.
Case closed I reckon.
