Six inches and that ball wouldn´t have popped up to Crouch´s head
Six inches and that Danny Rose shot against the Arse would´ve gone skyward
Six inches and that ball would´ve skidded off Gingers head
Six inches and Tommy Hutch would have avoided that fuclin free kick

It´s an almost indivisible line between success and failure these days but dare I suggest that with better players , fantastic organisation, attention to detail, determination and the will to win , those six inches now seem like 3 or four - that´s the difference

Oh and six inches means a lot to my Mrs. - it would be only half what she´s used to ;))

pretty sure that's the point paddy is making mate.

Maybes are no use against teams like Sunderland or Blackburn if you want to win trophies. It's totally different than playing Chelsea, where a hard luck story could have some truth in it. Chelsea will look at their defeat as an understandable event. If they take one point out of two games involving Sunderland & Blackburn they'll be worried about their chances for the season as it gives them less leeway to drop anymore points against teams like us.

It's not bad luck only scoring one goal v Sunderland & Blackburn, it means something was wrong & needs fixing, just as conceding too many goals to such teams did when Hughes was in charge.

i'll agree with you about sunderland, but the blackburn game was a complete aberration imo; i'd thought we were shite watching from the south stand but watching the highlights after made me think BB were amazingly lucky to get anything from that game. they'd have been lucky if it had finished 2-1.

obviously if it keeps happening then something badly needs addressing&we can kiss goodbye to challenging for anything, but hopefully those two games can serve as an early but timely reminder of the perils of profligacy.

True. I think we would've lost to Chelsea had we beaten Blackburn and Sunderland though for some strange reason.
