Trying to get opinions on our widemen. Obviously Carlos is gonna front it, but what are the 2 either side of him that you'd choose?
not gave Balo as an option as he's gonna be out for ages yet.

Milner is NOT a winger imo. He should be playing in midfield alongside 2 of Yaya/Barry/de Jong.

Not trying to put a spanner in your idea Bingo, but it doesn't work for me that.. i'm leaning towards Ted's argument that we need at least one big guy in there. Ade at present.

But in the spirit of your question/poll.. i'd go for Milner -Tevez - Silva on the basis of work rate and mixed play. AJ is better at some things but still has stuff to learn in his all round game, imo.

Silva - Tevez - Johnson.
That's the trio I'd like to see!

If we are playing 4-3-3 then I think this would be our strongest front three at the present moment:

--------------ADEBAYOR----------------
-----SILVA---------------TEVEZ---------

The actual width will come from our full backs and no need for the wide men.

Makes the midfield a really tough place to be with only 3 slots going for Yaya, Barry, Milner, De Jong, Johnson, SWP, Vieira which is why Mancini is playing it safely and using Johnson and Milner in the front 3 at the moment.

Totally agree with this line up. I even rather have Jo and/or RSC playing up front than playing with two midgets (Silva and Tevez) and a work horse like Milner. We got 3 points against Chelsea, but it definitely was not down to our brilliant attacking game.

Exactly. If we replaced De Jong or Barry with Milner, it would give us much more positive outlook anyway.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

100% with all this.

( it might be interesting tonight v Juve, we may start to see the beginnings of what Mancini is trying to engineer )

Agree with this. Would like to see a front 3 of Ade, Tevez and Silva as well

Depends who we are playing.

Plenty of times against Chelsea, Milner or Silva would get down the wing and there was virtually nobody in the box. Ok against Chelsea you dont want to commit too many from your midfield too far forward so it worked in that game. Against weaker midfields, you would want someone to commit to being a front man, not Tevez but Ade or Ballotelli in due course, then Tevez following up with others from the midfield.

Silva---Tevez---Jonno would be a worldly top 3 imo.

AJ is not quite there yet for me.. im sure he will be as he seems to have the right attitude and he has got time on his side. he is one of our most exciting prospects, but has to learn to make the right decisions during and at the end of his runs.. and choose his moments for shooting. His one man show the other week showed up his weaknesses as much as his strengths.

Im getting more confident that Mancini will get the best out of him given time as it looks like he is with all our players who show the right attitude.

We actually saw this line up for 35mins against Valencia in pre season. Not only that but Boateng and Kolarov were the overlapping full backs. Hope this is long term plan ;-)

We did.. albeit pre-season non-sense. I rekon it is safe to assume this is the long term plan.. otherwise why did he go and buy such players? Also it could be said that the other buys.. Silva, Milner and Balotelli can all play inside or wide.. that fits well with overlapping FBs.
