casual observation, and not related to his performance in the match (which i took some positives from and found encouraging) ... on the report from the sheik that's been released, boateng is in what I perceive to be the center back grouping. Any thoughts on that?

Looked to have that class going forwards which Micah does not. Superb delivery and a very powerful throw. This guy is going to become a class signing for us. Cannot wait for Kloverov to get back, we have one of the best back fours in the world, let alone the country.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Kloverov. Thanks for making me smile. But I do agree he looks a quality player.

aside from the shot on goal that ended up as a throw in I thought he did very well indeed - don't quite understand the "he'll turn us into stoke" bit though - why??

If he plays anywhere other than rightback (except as injury cover) he will be underused by us, not that he will get a look-in centrally at the moment anyway . With the kind of delivery he is capable of, he won't be central defender in the longterm.

He has a tremendous throw in but being City, we only made a token effort to get on the end of it rather than use everything at our disposal to actually try & win the game. If we come down off our high horse in the future though, it's something we could spring on teams as a surprise tactic.

We haven't had one of those since Richard Dunne started taking free kicks.

West Brom away circa 2005. Dissallowed, but still a lost gem.

So glad he is now available - he has a real footballing brain - and as well as being a good defender (he works hard at getting back as well) he can get down the line and he can cross well

when he switched from right back to left back at half time, he defended a corner and then completely forgot which position he was playing and we had two right backs for a moment until he realised and jogged over to the left side looking a little embarrassed.

apart from that little lapse in concentration, I think we will have a good back 4 once Kolarov gets fit

Thought he had an OK game against Juventus, but yesterday he was awful.
Seemed to never be in the right position everytime Newcastle came down the left, at fault for the goal as he just let there goalscorer wander into the box without tracking him, and his distribution was terrible. Now i rate the lad but on yesterday performance i would have Boyata ahead of him.

When a player is running at him he backs off far too much! I hope that this gets sorted ASAP because in the Premiership he'll have people running at him every week.

I thought he was quite poor yesterday.... not that impressed with him at the mo. It was his first prem start and I'm sure he'll get better, and he needs to, a few more performances like that and he'll be on the bench IMO. Passing wasnt great, was caught out of position too many times (Usuall straight after he'd given the ball away), and he didnt stop enough crosses coming in, ie their goal.

I might be being hyper critical, but just not quite done enough for me yet.

oh but hang on lads. He was supposed to be our saviour that was going to shore up our right hand side???

He's a work in progress. Just like Micah, just like Boyata.
