Looking good so far, but getting what he wants at the moment, freedom.
Quality player no doubt, can't understand how they got him so cheap.
History of self destructing so for our sakes hopefully it wont be long.

I think it will later emerge that there was something extremely dodgy about this transfer. Probably the day after twitchy's funeral.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

When spurs signed him I said on here that it was a stupid buy, oh how I was wrong! But I think if defoe was fit then twitchy would be having problems because he needs to play one up front to accommodate VdV but would he leave defoe out?

Cannot stand Spurs but I think VDV is an absolute steal for 8m. I still cannot believe they got him that cheap.

We missed the boat on that deal. He is exactly the kind of player we are lacking.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Watching Samir Nasri last night I had the same thought.

All Van Der Vaarts hollywood stuff has come at home so far where Spus monopolise the ball and are constantly going forward, and granted he looks good. Would like to see how he fits in when they are away though, and more importantly how he plays when they dont have the ball so much.
Its a little early to crown him as yet, but he has impressed so far.

I actually thought it was a loan and I was rather hoping we could gazump spurs to a permanent transfer next summer if he proved to be a hit in the Prem - oh well.
I agree he is exactly the player we currenty lack

I'm confident Nige would keep him quiet when we play them.

Must have completely misunderstood this thread. I thought that's what you did with a newspaper after someone has let rip.

We've got that sort of player - Silva, just he hasn't settled as quickly. Give it a couple of months

Silva is a winger, Van der Vaart is playmaker.

Silva is not a winger. That's born from the fact Spain play him out wide. His natural position is behind the strikers.

I hope he's back from suspension on time.
