http://mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2010/O ... nning-uglyit's a good interview that with Kidd. Good to hear his comments about AJ (the fact that he works hard in training and in games but Mancini just puts big demands on everyone, no matter how talented they are) and also about his general emphasis on team above any individuals.
I've never really focussed too much on Kiddo but he comes across great in this. Always thought it was a bit of an odd couple him and Mancini but I guess that the time Sven spent working with Kidd probably played a part in Mancini and him being able to work together, or at least Mancini having faith in the value of having someone like Kidd involved in the set up.
I remember reading an interview with some of the United team of Beckham, Scholes, Butt, Neville vintage where they all made reference to the role that both Kidd and Steve McLaren had played alongside Fergie. Providing some of the more caring/soft skills type management of the players to temper Fergie's my way or the highway. And that they all equally said that both Kidd and McLaren were great coaches too.
Be interesting to have DH and NMT's take on the role that Brian Kidd takes on the training pitch. I know that Mancini is very involved actually on the playing area (whereas i know from when I went to Carrington whilst Hughes was in charge that he was very much an observer and director with Bowen and Nedzweicki being the ones who were hands on) and it sounds like Platt is equally involved.
What is Kidd's involvement?
