I almost died when I saw the name of that thread! I'm sitting in mcdonalds outside stadium! After jus travelling 3 hours, with the drainage system in place, would there actually be a chance it could?

Haha, plus you'll be able to flog them to either a Man U or Liverpool fan after the game. I'm sure they'll pay top dollar

We did get a game called off a few years ago because of the rain. Us v Ipswich Town around 93/94 ish...Michel Vonk got two from memory, and then everyone got sent back to the hutch.

There was also another one a few years later, again against Ipswich, when the undersoil heating had been on and not "defrosted" the pitch properly. it started to rain heavily, but becusae just under the surface was still frozen, it turned Maine Road into a lake.

And there is your dull Sunday morning weather nostalgia information.....back to Slow roasting my belly pork!

I seem to remember one of Vonk's being a screamer.

Ah, happy days. George Courtney, what a tw@t. My hazy memory of my youth tells me Kare Ingebrigtsen scored the first and Vonk the second, a screamer form outside the box followed by a massive Dickov-like slide on the wet ground to celebrate. But perhaps I am talking out my hat.

You could be right chaps....but yes Vonky's was a stinging clump from outside the box. Ingebrigsten also bagged against Leicester in the FA Cup didn't he?

I was half way to the game, coming from Todmorden. I drove through two proper floods and endless deep puddles to get there.
On the way my dad phoned me to tell me the game wasn't on. He meant 'on the telly' the daft cunt, I nearly shit myself.
