Tevez Penalty

A lot of comments about how Williamson got the ball in the broadcasts and how it was outside the box.

I noticed during Hughton's interview when they replayed the goal that there was another angle I don't recall seeing broadcast. It was from behind, similar to Atkinson's, and clearly showed Williamson taking out Tevez's leg before playing the ball. Clear as day, indisputable from that angle.

So it was a foul, but one that occurred outside the box. But though contact was initiated outside the box it did continue inside the box, therefore Atkinson was within his rights to award the penalty. Technically, he should have sent off Williamson for denial of a goal scoring opportunity but I don't really care.

I thought it was outside the box at the time. I also thought we gave away a penalty at one point.
I'll reserve further judgement till I see the replays tonight.

Tevez was definitely taken out before contact with the ball, though it was outside the box.

Lescott did commit a foul and they should have had a pen.

So we got the Lion's share of what good fortune was going around. I care not - makes a change.

Can someone else take the next one he keeps blasting them down the middle a goalkeepers going to stand up soon
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

You want someone else to take the penalties despite tevez scoring every single penalty he's ever taken for us?

Someone stood still last year and he put it in the corner. I'm not as confident as when Elano took them, but he's not missed one yet, so let's not start worrying. You sound like the fans on the radio complaining we're too negative, despite being 2nd in the table
