messiah - we didnt actually deserve 3 points today - but it underlines the importance of players who can change games like that

I rest my case.

Showing why he should be one of the first names on the team sheet instead of being punished for having confidence in his own ability.

Great goal today and got Mancini off the hook. A player that doesnt look to play the ball backwards at any opportunity and had the bollocks to take a player on and fire off a great strike. Thanks AJ for taking your chance again. Hopefully you will get a few minutes against Blackpool in a couple of weeks.

AJ has to be given a licence to thrill and take on opposing players.....if he fucking passes the ball every time he gets it then he will be just like most average wingers...boring and predictable.

AJ is the first winger that excites the fuck out us......and imo he should have been in the startign 11...more so considering fucking Milner was ill !

I want him to start every game, such an exciting player. I just hope Mancini sees this as another reason for him to start games, rather than to enforce his opinion that he can be a great sub/impact player.

I honestly saw nothing wrong with his Blackburn performance. He'd start every game for me as well.

You lot can sit and look at your belly buttons all you want. For me Mancini did the right thing, this time around. Maxmum effect with minimum effort.

And this is what I said back in September on a thread entitled David Silva - did I not.....

I would pretty much without exception have AJ in the starting 11 in the prem - I think this lad has a very bright future ahead of him, hes young, strong, gifted and confident - he can unlock defenses with ease and knows where the goal is.

I hope he doesn't become a player who is under used - he needs to play. I was disappointed to see that Milner is taking corners from the right hand side since his arrival instead of AJ. Fair enought to mix it up a bit (inswingers and out swingers), but don't take them all away from him!

Actually he scored a brilliant goal then went on to show why he wasn't starting. Ball given away, ran into people, lousy shots etc. Looked a bit like the goal went straight to his head.

Totally agree, though it was good to see him actually running at people, something I have criticised him for not doing recently.

How good is it having players like Ade and AJ on the bench who can come on and turn a game

I was a bit surprised that mancini waited so long to make the change today, but he did at least make it

I'd like to see him playing inside a little bit more, or straight down the middle like Ronaldo eventually did. At the moment he can drift out of games, but as an impact sub you could't wish for better

It will get even more difficult for Mancini when Kolarov, Bridge, and Balotelli are available. How does he keep the players happy then?

Just re-watched the video and he had 7 or 8 players around him giving him hugs and such. No worries.

what's the story with his celebration? is he asking why he doesn't start, and then "keeping his mouth shut"?
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

On the subject of celebrations for his goal

Look at this and the second to last/or last replay......where you can see Adebayor and look at his "celebration".....such a team player

Fucking annoying. I love Adebayor as a player but just wish he could stop acting like such a selfish petulant fuck. Tevez's celebration when he ran up to Roque seemed to me like the captain trying to make a fringe player (who can still be needed/useful to us) seem included and part of the team.

Kolo, Vincent, Yaya and the rest of the French speaking players ought to try a similar tactic with Adebayor....well the whole team should but the native speakers probably could do this most effectively.....in the same way that Zabba/Tevez/Roque/Silva ought to be able to be on a quite familiar wavelength in terms of communication

I've come to the conclusion that that is his actual celebration. Just running around wondering what he should do while talking to himself and occasionally pulling at the City badge on his shirt. I like it! I like it a lot.
