Thought he looked promising v Juve but was awful yesterday. All the problems came off that side in the first half but he did look safer later on. Poor on the whole though. it's very early days.

When fit he will be one of the finest defenders in the PL.

How people come on and compare "the baby giraffe" aka Boyata and "oh wheres the ball gone, oh its stuck under my feet again" aka Richards to him is just daft. Neither of them have nowhere near as gooder a football brain as him.
Boyata did well vs chelsea but the jury's still out for me with him. Shit scared to overlap and have a go at a defender, im not bothered if he is a centre half by trade, he just doent look confident with the ball at his feet.

Boateng, after 5 more games will be shit hot :-) and....the answer to of RB problem. Although i do agree that he, among with every other player (except NDJ, Komps and Tevez, who all can never be faulted for effort) was pretty poor yesterday.

May be he was tired for the juve game but I found him not at his best yesterday!

He didn't have a great game and did back off a lot but the amount of times Newcastle doubled up on him and he had no other cover was ridiculous.

I think he'll be a tremendous player but when everyone was slagging Micah after the Spurs game, I said I was glad Boateng didn't play as he would have been ripped to pieces by Bale. His defensive performance v Barcodes proves my point. The Prem is difficult & it could take him & Kolarov a while to get used to it.

Will be looking forward to seeing Jerome's progress over the next few week. Though i just watched his interview on the OS after juve game....the lad needs a happy pill or something - typically german i suppose

Im unsure he will be as good as some of you are making out. Some of his defending on Sunday reminded of the some of his games in the world cup, backs off far too much and allows the opposition to have too much time. Didnt think much of him against Juve (and he again let their lad have far to much space to strike the ball) and he had a nightmare on Sunday. Heres hoping im wrong but just cant see him being "world class"
