Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

petrov wrote:yet again with blinkers on everyone but City fans are wrong. I made my feeling on DeJong clear at the WC. Great player and a tough tackler when he doesn't bend the rules. I gave him the benefit yesterday, watching the replays i'm not so sure. Right to be dropped, he has to learn you can't just go around breaking people up, this is football not UFC.

Absolute b@llocks mate - yesterday's challenge was a fair tackle. Looking again and again at the replay and still images of the incident i'm still puzzled as to how exactly that challenged resulted in a double break... and to even mention it in the same breath as the Karl Henry foul is an utter joke too!

The Ref saw nothing wrong, Houghton has said there was nothing wrong (but it was an unnecessary tackle... so we should let the opposition have the ball should we?) The player himself never made anything of it at the time, nor did any Newcastle player. MOTD and apparently ESPN pundits found nothing wrong with it... yet Stan Collymore and this morning Sky are talking about the tackle as if it was worse than Ben Thatcher on Pedro Mendes!

Nige is a tough lad, who tackles hard and fair - he's no angel and the WC karate kick was terrible, but again a misjudgement on his part... but can any of these critics breathing fire name another NDJ incident off the top of their heads... I doubt it.

It's a real shame what's happened to Ben Arfa, and I hope the lad has a speedy recovery but it was an accident pure and simple, and the most horifying thing in this whole incident is how so called journalists are trying to have a professional footballer strung up for something he didn't do!

Nige isn't captain of England mate, and wouldn't get away with assault (even when caught on video).

Are you deliberately trying to give everyone the impression that you're a wanker?

Anyway, back in the world of normal human beings; it's an awful shame what's happened to the lad but having seen it again, if they 'do' DeJong for that, they'd better give Paul Scholes & about 50 other people a retrospective 20 game ban each. I asked two full scale rags about it before I'd seen the replay & neither thought there was even a question of a problem with the challenge.

Do you think i give a shit what you think? Go suck some PC dick somewhere and don't quote me if you dont like what i say. I enjoyed watching the replay over and over. Do i give a shit about the guy? NO. end off.

Ps. Your a wanker

There's nothing PC about it. The differeince is between the reaction of a normal human being & your reaction which is abnormal. I'm just not a pussy like you so i see the challenge and i think "oooh that fucking hurt, get in".

Also to whoever said it, no i dont enjoy it happening to city players because it matters to me that our players stay fit and do well.

Let's just say I am glad he plays for our side. He is kind of like Robbie Savage with more skill, less hair, and much much much more quiet. He clearly gets under everyone's skin save ours. Love him.

Harsh tackle. I find the Dutch manager's choice a bit odd (then again he did tactically blow the WC final) especially to drop him althogether, but I can also see how he might think Nigel will be unfairly targeted in the near term by officials.
I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I am all out of bubblegum.

We were lucky yesterday if Nigel wasn't sent off immediately for his terrible foul! Now what I pretend from Mancio is this lad must be punished! City aren't like rags, Nigel couldn't become our Roy Keane and he must learn to fight with his heart and, much more than now, with his brain.
A month playing with our reserves shall be enough for him!!!

Fuck all wrong with the tackle he got the ball.; Ben Arfa was just unlucky, it happens sometimes. De Jong should tell the Dutch manager that he won't be playing for them again as long as the dick is in charge.

I hope you're not serious, it wasn't such an outrageous tackle. Injuries happen in tackles but it doesn't automatically mean NDJ is a criminal, he got the ball first, and then collided with the player, how many times does that happen in games? Do all players who make tackles like that get sluaghtered this way by the media? I don't think so.

if you really care about ben arfa have you sent him any get well cards or flowers in hospital?

It was unlucky for him but do i care about him ? NO! would he care if i was unable to work through injury for a few months? It was de jongs trailing leg that did the damage so in my opinion he didnt mean to do any damage. If he meant to do damage it would of been his leading foot that went in above the ball.

All players like de jong get told to hit the creative players hard early to try and keep them out of the game, I mean look at ronaldo when he was in england how many teams tried braking his legs?

Anyone got footage of Tiote's attempt to chop Milner?

Be interesting to see how the critics stand on that one, or maybe it doesn't count as it didn't connect.

I never say NDJ is a criminal! He made a mistake and it's not the first time in his career. Mancio must talk with him very carefully or we would pay for his foul very early in this season!
