The We Love Nigel de Jong Thread

Postby The Man In Blue » Tue Oct 05, 2010 11:48 am

Right, i know there's a thread discussing the incident but i've been watching the witch-hunt develop, culminating in an article by the Mail (always the most reasonable of publications) calling for Nige to be banned "for as long as Ben Arfa is out".

now i know some opinions on here differ about the tackle itself, but the lad is a Blue and gives his all for the side in every single match we play. We need to close ranks and support him through the next month or two because he is in for a pretty rocky ride from the papers and oppo fans.

Nige mate, you are one of us and the people that matter are right behind you.

I seem to remember a lot of posters on here saying he's shite, one dimensional, can't pass and we should get rid. They seem to have gone quiet...

Head up Nige it will all blow over...

i actually staggered at the uproar this has caused in the media. will karl henry be banned for as long as zamora is out, why hasnt he been done for his shocking challenges this season. in particular the performance against barton (where he was clearly trying to hurt him).

supporting NDJ all the way, it was a mis timed tackle and it happens at every level. the break was very unfortunate.

Legend and will probably have the privilege of becoming the first player to ever have a second season on the back of my shirt next year. Which im sure will eclipse a WC final appearance.

Thought he was unlucky on Sunday, but that is the third leg he has broken so far if I'm not mistaken. Add the Alonso 'tackle' to that list & I'm not surprised people think he is a dirty cunt. And I suppose he is really, but he is OUR dirty cunt.

ps - I'm very dissapointed ant is the only poster who has carried on using the 'wrinkly dog' moniker. Surely everyone can see the resemblance?!

I am really starting to love watching Wrinkly Dog. And I love that as a moniker.
Him and Two's are really showing their worth more and more this season.
I honestly think he has grown in stature and he has the confidence on the ball that was missing before.
It's almost like he's thinking "Hey I've played in a World Cup Final and I'm fucking good"
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

that's because he was. he's still one dimensional, but it's an important dimension, and he's one of the best at it.
his confidence is sky high from the world cup and it shows.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

He's my hereo at the moment. Not because of this furore but because he was fast becoming my favourite player anyway. His silence speaks volumes imo. He knows he didn't intend to break the lads leg so why should he come out and placate the rag-loving press just so they can twist his words.

Fuck-em Nige!

Him and Vincent are also two of the only players in the current (or past) City squads that I reckon you could sit down and have a bite to eat and a natter with and get some sensible, interesting and varied conversation out of

He's a class act.

Absolutely quality player for me, even if he made a great mistake last Sunday with that leg behind poor Ben Harfa ... but life must go on for both players and City too!!!
