This whole campaign from them has defined hypocrisy, they bent over backwards to welcome the yanks and now its gone tits up they won't stop moaning about 'modern football'. Of course, they want some sugar daddy to come in now and give them funds to spend again, I guarantee you won't hear them moaning about 'modern football' if it does happen.
The Board of Directors have received two excellent financial offers to buy the Club that would repay all its long-term debt. A Board meeting was called today to review these bids and approve a sale. Shortly prior to the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought to remove Managing Director Christian Purslow and Commercial Director Ian Ayre from the Board, seeking to replace them with Mack Hicks and Lori Kay McCutcheon.
This matter is now subject to legal review and a further announcement will be made in due course.
Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre continue to explore every possible route to achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity.

That is one of the funniest things I've seen in quite some time. Take my hat off to them, Chris Morris couldn't have done better than that.
Liverpool confirm sale to New England Sports Ventures - subject to solving a legal dispute with Hicks and Gillett. Not there yet then.

They own the red sox, the scum have a business partnership with the yankees (for those not into baseball that is the most heated rivalry in the game) ... I don't know what to think about that.

We were taken over by a wealthy owner to much acclaim from us. We have reaped the benefit of that but it could just as easily have been the case that we were run into the ground too, so maybe we shouldn't mock the afflicted too much ?
